A good italian sauce can makemit much more appealing. Or really any sauce you like can make it better.
If you like a good chili sauce use that and mix in some beans.
There is always stuff you can do to make things more palatable.
Most of the real hard core long term preppers you see on youtube have supplies of spices and condiments to make things such as rice more palatable.
With things like rice and dried beans some thought has to be given as to how to heat this stuff in case of a lack of cooking fuel. A real problem for city and apartment dwellers.
As a general statement on rice there are several alternatives to standard white rice that are still inexpensive and currently available. One thing also to consider is cooking oils that is another thig expected to become scarce in the near future.
