They did have their own department. Once this goes into effect then they'll have to rely on county fire protection, and Orange County will have to provide it.
You didn't read the story that started this thread, did you?
Your education is worth every penny that was paid.
I had speculated that what Disney really needs is a political champion that is smarter than Ron DeSantis - someone like Joe Biden; or Jill; or Kamala; or Stacy Adams.
With you in their corner, Disney's search is over.
usually the debt are paid off with the assets of the special district that is being dissolved.
Please pass the popcorn
What difference does that make? I had not responded to your thread, had I? Wasn't it your choice to interject your 'fear, uncertainty, and doubt' comment?
Debt paid for by all those new, big, beautiful taxes on everything disney.
The district itself has no assets or property to speak of. It’s a quasi=governmental entity set up to direct Disney’s local operations. All of the good stuff belongs to Disney. So hold off on the popcorn.

Easy. 20% ticket surcharge at Disney should do it. If not then that number can easily be raised. Plenty where that came from. Disney has far more money than they know what to do with.
“Seems a simple solution - the state pays off the bonds.”
The bonds would be managed until satisfied, per the bond agreements, from either Disney or the state of FL.
What’s more interesting to me, is Disney seems to be seeking additional conflict with DeSantis.
Chapek does not appear to be capable of learning lessons. He will learn.
I predict he will be gone from Disney in relatively short order. I’ve spent tens of thousands of dollars at WDW in Orlando, and will spend no more.
I was there last week and wanted to stay at Coronado Springs, but meh, I stayed off-property.
It’s truly sad to see such a beautiful company destroy itself with woke-politics and piss-poor business practices that suck the magic out of your vacation desire to simply RELAX AND ENJOY!
“Courts will side with Disney on this one. “
What, exactly, does a judicial victory mean for Disney?
The governor and legislature can bleed billions from Disney in new laws and administrative actions with every new number on the calendar.
Chapek will exit soon, and take these political issues, and his piss poor management style with him.
SChapek-goat is coming, mark my words.

They’re like small bratty children, rules-lawyering to try to get what they want.
Chapek initially tried to stay out of it, but he got dogpiled by the woke at Disney and bent the knee. He’s an idiot.
That’s just it. Under Reedy Creek, Disney does have fire and EMS departments of their own. They are woefully understaffed and underequipped per the record.
More concerning is that Disney also has it’s own police and jail under Reedy Creek. Think about how that works.
Sold all but 5K (original investment) of Disney stock in all accounts I manage. Their stewardship is questionable.
Another possible option is that the county Government (Osceola) takes over the bonds and then taxes Disney appropriately to service those debts.
A big mouse trap would work. Certain types of porn would suffice for bait.
A link to a YouTube video debunking some of the myths and false claims that are floating around regarding the Reedy Creek Improvement District can be found here.
Therefore, if the bond is dissolved, the local taxpayers or the state will not be responsible for the outstanding debt.
good read, or view. cheers.
“Disney has far more money than they know what to do with.”
Enough to pay a stock dividend again?
When?
