He’s 74. Just retire already.

What’s with the boomers thinking they need to work until they drop dead? It’s not good for them or for the country.

I agree. He should have retired 10 years ago. Same Fauci. Same with Biden. Same Mitch the Turtle and Schumer and Pelosi...Oh, the list goes on and on. (Not so true for Trump.) They need to step aside and make way for the Peter Doocys of the world.

“What’s with the boomers thinking they need to work until they drop dead? It’s not good for them or for the country.”

There are help wanted signs all over the country so clearly workers are needed. Many retired boomers are taking retail and other jobs in order to supplement retirement savings shrinking due to the high inflation. For some it is a matter of having to work to eat and pay bills. Others of retirement age work because jobs provide physical exercise, mental stimulation and the chance to talk to people.

I was delighted yesterday to have in a fast food outlet yesterday staffed with cheery, quick and helpful senior citizens. Fast service, clean tables, and hot food. A very different experience from the typical filthy fast food establishment staffed with lazy youth who are at best indifferent and often hostile to customers.

On to Lowes where the gray haired boomers in the plumbing or electric department actually know where the products are stocked and most can help the customer work through a problem. Compare to the younger employees who turn their back and head the other way when a customer enters an aisle. If you can catch one they can’t answer a simple question about the location of a product, much less offer any advice when choosing between multiple products.

I was talking to a factory owner at the barber shop a few days ago. He was complaining that most people applying for jobs under 40 can’t pass the drug test. He lamented the retirement of boomers in their 60’s because they are much more productive than younger workers, and aren’t constantly complaining.

While you may not agree with Wallace’s political point of view, be thankful many boomers are still working past age 65. Who would fill the jobs if they quit in mass?

Whether it is good for them or not, should be their decision. Whether it is good for the country, entirely depends on the boomer. Think how much better shape this nation would be in right now if boomer Trump had not been deprived of his second term. Some old goats still have amazing abilities and should not be arbitrarily put out to pasture. Not every boomer is Brandon.

Concerning Chris Wallace, the nation would have been better off if he had taken a career at the mill. Yes, he should retire. Retroactively, if possible.
