Kansas Congressional map appears to have been rejected by courts

However, there is a chance that the map will get overturned in court. Democrats, the American Civil Liberties Union of Kansas and the Campaign Legal Center have filed two lawsuits in state court alleging that the 3rd District’s new configuration is unfair and illegal. The Kansas Supreme Court may be sympathetic to the argument, since five of its seven members were appointed by Democratic governors.

Note that the map is now shaded yellow which means the previous proposal has been rejected. That was a Republican-enacted proposal.

Well, if it was drawn by Republicans it’s obviously illegal and unconstitutional. /sarc

We'll note that the current Kansas CD3 area of Johnson County is about 20 miles by 24 miles - perfect for a crew of busy ballot fraud bees to drive around stuffing mail ballot drop boxes...

That's probably why the Democheats are getting "exercised" by the redistricting.

This is the map that was rejected? That is the least gerrymandered map ever. Only a few of the counties split. Anyone who has been through western Kansas knows why district 1 is so large in land. Just drive west on I70.

Current map, not proposed map.

In no state does it say that the courts decide redistricting. The legislature should tell them to pound sand.
