FBI Director Christpher Wray addressed the skyrocketing rate of murders against police officers Sunday, saying the surge is far outpacing general violent crime. Wray made the comments during a "60 Minutes" interview on Sunday, saying murders of police officers rose 59% in 2021. The total murder rate rose 29% last year, and the U.S. lost 73 police officers to such attacks in 2021. "Violence against law enforcement in this country is one of the biggest phenomena that I think doesn't get enough attention," Wray said, adding that officers are being murdered at a rate of nearly "one every five days."

I was not aware that a law targeting the sale of unlicensed most likely stolen cigarettes probably to minors was related to the death of someone who had been arrested previously more than 30 times for assault, resisting arrest, and grand larceny. But the fact that the completely woke deep blue municipality of NYC such a law that you feel is unfair to minorities is no surprise. So do you consider the laws against strong arm robbery, arson, stabbing, shooting and mugging innocent citizens is also unfair to minorities since proportionally they are convicted of these laws far more often than selling unlicensed tobacco products to children? Or do you just support lawlessness and the breakdown of society in general>?
I see you are a liberal. "Probably to minors" means if you have the potential for a crime, it must be a crime. Same as with firearms, right? Just because you have a firearm means you must be a potential criminal.
Your thinking is disgusting.
Also, the fact that you allege the cigarettes were stolen makes you no different than Adam Schiff saying he knows Trump colluded with Russia and doesn't need evidence.
If someone has property, they can sell it as they see fit. Restricting that is violating property rights, which is what NYC is doing.
Using police to stop someone from selling a single cigarette from a pack they own is unconstitutional and fascist behavior.
I cannot believe a true FReeper would support that.
Wish that officer had went Nick Nolte on him like his character in Mulholland Falls did with a snotty FBI puke...
Your first comment in this thread said all we need to understand your mindset. About the 450% increase in police deaths on the job in the last 9 years you said, “Who cares?” You are nothing but an entitled, spoiled, lefty. We have a real breakdown in society going on and you are cheering it on. What are you even doing here? Do you work as a defense lawyer trying to get the guilty off on technicalities? You are an embarrassment!
Hay, FBI Director Christpher Wray, why is your FBI constantly being shown to be crooked?
Name 3 laws which are targeting blacks or minorities.
They don't care about qualified individuals. If they did they wouldn't be hiring women to put into patrol vehicles or lowering the testing/academy standards. They're more concerned if someone has 10 units from a local Jr. college than if they're street savvy or big enough to take care of themselves and others if need be. When a violent criminal sees a 5'9" overweight female with a badge, they have zero respect for that.
Imagine your working the senseless murder district and your new partner is a woman with some college credits who clearly can't handle the job or back you up if need be in a violent brawl with real mean people.
Amen. Bears repeating.
I can. there are still plenty of jackboots around here, though less than there used to be.
They’re so politicized, they’re worthless to America as an anti-crime force.
I never said the law was racist. I put racist in quotes to show how it makes minorities feel.
Your problem is that you are in favor of a police state. You will get it from the left. I hope you enjoy it.
They are actually arguing with me over the need for laws to prevent citizens from selling individual cigarettes from a pack that they possess.
These FReepers support a police state.
Sometimes it isn’t the officers on the street who are the problem. My son works in a small town department of 22-25 officers and 10K town population.
They have a bad cop: a drunk, wrecked and had buddy move to driver seat. Still so drunk he goes to wrong house and breaks and enters on a little old lady and threatens her before he figures he in the wrong house. Multiple DUI arrest without giving person arrested their implied consent rights. Arrests with the person blowing under the legal limit. Executing home entries without proper warrants-multiple officers informed him this was illegal, still done. The DA losing multiple cases of this officer because he failed to show for court yet turned in time for being there, pulling tickets for his buddies, and theft at the police station caught on camera, confronted didn’t care. For this behavior HE WAS PROMOTED!
Other officers in the department signed affidavits detailing this officers abuses and the captain and watch commanders on several occasions took their concerns to the chief of police. His response, you all wouldn’t cut it as real cops and I would rather have 20 of the bad cop than you. The officers took the evidence to the city attorney-they agreed fireable but they didn’t have the legal power to do so. So they took it to the mayor, his response, I guess I will have to do a little more supervision. The dirty cop is still there and it’s not because fellow officers didn’t try to do the right thing. Now they are just in CYA mode for when this chief and his dirty officer finally go too far, so all cops are not dirty and do try to do the right thing.
