I think a lot of that is age-related. Russian cuties at 18 become matronly battle axes and scolds at 30.
When I was in Spain it seemed much the same thing. For both men and women.
Either they looked like runway or magazine fashion models or they looked 80 years old, bent over, and often walking 5 or 6 little yapping, ill-behaved dogs.
