Some reports say that dozens of other officers were killed along with them (around 50). If it was a significant Operational planning meeting/briefing, those staff officers might have been pretty key players too.
That should delay/disrupt their attempt to push on toward Odessa. If Putin does not have some victories to flaunt by May 9th, and has a few more of these body blows to the Russian Military, his domestic sales job (both to the Public, and within the Government) is likely to take a turn for the worse.
