“The Sunday Morning Bray”, by Bray!

The grace of our Lord has poured out on me abundantly, along with the faith and LOVE that are in Christ Jesus 1 Tim 1:14

During the height of the Cold War an American businessman was being given a tour of Red Square. He looked at a line of a hundred sweepers who had been slowly making their way across the square, carefully sweeping the cobblestones at a snail’s pace. He looked up at his guide and said, “You know we have a street sweeper that could have this done in less time and would cost the same as ten of your sweepers for a year.”
The Russian official looked at him confused and said,
“Then what would we do with our sweepers?”

This is the difference between our President and America. He believes only he and gummit can create jobs while we know that government cannot create a single job and can only destroy jobs. Until the DNC is willing to release the free market we are going to continue to have high unemployment and low expectations. This is the great divide between the two groups of thought, one puts all of its trust in a gummit that will create more sweepers and another that wants to put those sweepers to work in the private sector becoming all they can be. A healthy economy will begin to create more opportunities for more people to actually build the upward spiral of capitalism.

Rather than spending another $500 Billion we or our children don’t have, Conservatives believe it is better to have private enterprise stimulate the economy. The first step would be the allowing of the pipelines from Canada and the NatGas line from Alaska. This would immediately bring thousands of jobs being stimulated by oil companies spending Billions of their own money. This would not only add quality high paying jobs but would add to the infrastructure leading to lower gas and oil prices without a taxpayer dime. This will not only be a short term jolt to the economy but a long term asset for a growing economy, rather than more public square sweepers.

The next step of course would be the exploration and development of our natural resources. Our representatives have to educate the American people that this is how a free market works. This lowered cost gas from more efficient transportation and availability would fuel a genuine economic recovery which would last through the next decade. We are the most gifted Country in the world if we will just eliminate the eco-nazis and assorted commies who want to have sweepers rather than people striking out on their own and building a new America. The development of our resources would not only expand the number of energy workers but would bring more royalties and profits into the public coffers to begin to lower the deficit and begin to pay off the debt. This is such simple economics there is no way Haaaavard could ever understand the equation.

We would also need to allow companies to expand the coal and gas power plants to power our economy. Once we have a steady and economical form of energy we would then begin attracting energy dependent industries like steel, aluminum, computer chips and heavy manufacturing. The lower costing and dependable energy supplies in both petroleum and electrical power would bring businesses like moths to an incandescent light bulb. Lower energy costs would help offset our labor costs assuming the gummit would release our industries from the excessive labor and regulatory expenses. Rather than being ordered what to pay and benefits required the businesses could begin paying what people are worth by either piece work or production formulas to make both parties a united marriage benefiting both the worker and the company. With the advent of computers we can pay people by the keystroke rather than the hour to better reflect the value a worker has to his company.

This would naturally begin to expand into a healthy vibrant economy expanding in all areas of the industrial world. We would have huge advantages in both quality of worker and economic environment as we lowered business expenses while expanding business profits. The elimination of class envy would allow businesses and workers to become partners rather than adversaries which would expand the industrial environment making a fertile field for these businesses to sprout and grow. Every area of the economy would be developed just like our resources as this idea begins to be repeated over and over again taking this Country to heights it has never been.

Rather we hear the tired old Soviet lines of how we need to build more roads, schools, bridges and sweep more public squares. We will hear how we need to hire more sweepers and all of those sweepers will stimulate the economy as they take their rubles home to spend on new shoes and borscht. We will hear how glorious the Fatherland will be as soon as our leader is allowed to spend more and more of our children’s futures to maintain his corrupt status quo. We will hear how important it is to live our lives in a small hovel, riding to our sweeping job on public transit and return to our dimmed homes to begin our meager lives once again.

The last thing the commieCrats can ever afford to do is to allow people to become everything their potential would allow them to become. So we will hear how important it is to continue to sweep, keep your heads down and endure the lives our gummit is allowing you. America is standing at the edge of Red Square, half of this Country wants to live exactly like those sweepers and half want to throw away the brooms to live their lives as free men. Which life will you choose America, servitude or freedom?

Pray for America

Note: The above opinion is not necessarily my own, but FReeper Bray’s. If you wish to discuss this, please ping Bray.

Enjoy.  Or abhor, depending on the effect of my "wisdom".

The Trial of Johnny Depp

Folks,

I don't know what the hell is going on with Johnny Depp but every day this week, should I tune into Fox News, I see the above pictured man sitting on a court chair being interviewed.

John Christopher Depp II is an American actor, producer, and musician. He is the recipient of multiple accolades, including a Golden Globe Award and a Screen Actors Guild Award, in addition to nominations for three Academy Awards and two British Academy Film Awards. Wikipedia

Depp made his debut in the horror film A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984), before rising to prominence as a teen idol on the television series 21 Jump Street (1987–1990).

So he's some kind of big movie star?

But I jest.  I know OF Johnny Depp but really, is a five day viewing of his terrible marriage really worth watching?

I discovered that his wife burned him on the face with a cigarette, she did something bad to his feet, she slapped him.

As I have ascertained, Depp's wife sued him for a couple of bucks and he sued her back for a couple of bucks.

We have a world with the potential of turning nuclear.  We have a pandemic that won't die.  We have a President who has no workable mind.

And we've spend a week watching Johnny Depp tell us how awful his wife is!

What Will Happen to the Horrible Face Masks?

CDC is involved in this.  The DOJ is involved.  The American public is sick of it all.

The CDC is the Center for Disease Control.  Their job is to monitor....well diseases.  Then, as it should go, the CDC provides information to government bureaucracies who rule the world and tell them how to soothe a bee sting.

Okay, sarcasm is cool.  The CDC serves a necessary purpose and most times does a good job of it.  But the way this mask debate is going, the government says they will discuss with the CDC about what to do.  Which then, essentially, gives power to the CDC.

There's a lot of confusion on this matter although it's rather clear that America's esteemed "separation of powers" should handily handle this matter.

You want to make a law that everyone has to wear a mask?  Have the legislators...House and Senate, pass a law to order it so.  Have the legislature verified for legality by the courts and it moves on.  The President/Governor signs it into law and boom, it's done.  If the people don't like this law they can vote out all those representatives who voted it into law.

It's a great system.

Now so far, no law following the above system has been made.  I know it feels that way but mask-requiring was implemented by various government and social agencies.  Hospitals began to required masks.  Then schools and then must wear mask when dining out.

So a judge recently said that requiring mask mandates is illegal.

Well of course it is.  Some guy with a bad son and missing mind doesn't just get to snap his fingers and say...."Wear masks".  We don't  allow that  persons of power can ban wearing underwear.

And various gubmint types are saying they will wait for the CDC to tell them what to do.

Here's an idea.

ASK THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE TO WEAR THE MASKS!!!

Begin the Road to the Worst Cook in America

So I begin, in no specific time with no computed start date, my diary of learning to cook.

But first I must explain some things.

At my age-more on this later-I desire more than anything to become one of “The Worst Cooks In America”, featured on the Food Network.  Now I know that seems like an absurd wish at my current age of 71 years.

But of course!  I am, in fact, one of the world’s worst cooks but there are reasons for this.  Now, of course, I want to learn how to cook as I have discovered such as seasonings, herbs and how to properly cook garlic.

I worked all my life as a professional woman, nothing outstanding but busy, always running, like most working women.  And there were families, children and husbands.  I have been married four times, two widowhoods and two divorces.  Some of these husbands had children of their own, and, at some point I was a wife with a child of my own.  They all would get hungry and somewhere there is a rule that it is the female who is in charge of meals never mind that new payroll system almost ready to go.

Sure wives might arrange for a husband to cook, maybe even often.  He will help with clean up, will sometimes shop for groceries.  But I stand on this rule, feeding the familial masses will always be the responsibility of the wife.  Husband might cook what is instructed, he may have a favorite meal he can dish up, he might stop at the store and buy from list provided, and turn on dishwasher when wife calls and instructs.

This will always fall on the female of the relationship though yon reader might disagree.

So yes, I could grab a jar of spaghetti sauce, some ground beef….at times some Italian sausage….and churn up some spaghetti , noodles and all.  I have fairly handy with a slow cooker and most times kids and Dad alike enjoyed a roast with potatoes also roasted.

But such as seasonings were not all that important although there was salt and pepper, sometimes ground red pepper.

Mediocre.  Maybe I am more of a World’s Most Mediocre Cook than a World’s Worst Cook, but I digress.

Now, entering old age with knees to attest, eating is one of my greater joys in being alive.

I love cooking shows.

I don’t necessarily love to cook as my knees protest, but I love to flavor food to suit me and can now share my learning to cook experiences with the world.

///////

So let us begin with a couple of things I have learned recently from cooking.  From Rachel Ray, who evidentially loves to cook and she uses every item in her pantry for each meal she cooks.

But I have learned to save the water one cooks their pasta  in a small side cup as it will thicken any other sauces you may be making.  So instead of throwing in some flour to thicken up sauce you are preparing, just use a little of the water from the pasta you just cooked and THAT will do the job.

Then there is the shrimp scampi and the parsley.  First, understand here that I have never before particularly like parsley.  Oh sure, it makes a great decorative condiment and I wouldn’t go to the trouble of pulling some parsley out if included on a sandwich.  But I’ve noted that cooks on television will go to great efforts to add parsley to the soup.  First you got to buy this big bushy plant, either American or Italian parsley.  Then you gotta take a sharp big-bladed knife and chop the parsley this way, chop the parsley then that way….get it into small pieces.

I’ve never been a fan of chopping vegetables but if you like the vegie, as in onions, green pepper, etc….well you gotta chop.  But all that work for parsley which I never felt has much taste but looked nice, seemed like overkill.

Well I was wrong.

But first, about this shrimp scampi….nope.  Yes it tastes all right for who doesn’t like some pasta and shrimp mixed together?  The recipe I used for shrimp scampi included shallots, juice of a lemon and ½ cup of dry white wine.  Also, of course, ¼ cup of parsley leaves, chopped finely.

About the recipe above…WHERE IS THE CHEESE???  You got pasta, you gotta have some kind of cheese.  The other ingredients are fine but kind of boring.

However….THE CHOPPED PARSLEY TASTED GREAT!!

So far as I remember I have never eaten any kind of food that had parsley chopped finely and added liberally to the dish.  Decoration, yeah.  Real foodstuff?  I never thought of it that way.  Bur it was one of the better parts of the entire meal.

FOX NEWS SUNDAY - Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-Texas)

Henry is from the Valley - lots and lots of illegals bothering his constituents. Old Hendry may be defeated by a Tex-Mex R. come Nov.

The White Mexicans, either in Florida or Texas or New Mexico or Arizona, etc. are leaving the Dem. planation.

Wondering if the blacks will as well.

Excellent showing of what the commies who are in power now are doing to our country. Motivation is clearly sabotage as well.

We have an administration in charge of a sock-puppet who is told to do whatever they say. That administration clearly:

1. Hates America.

2. Hates white people, shows overwhelming partiality to non-whites.

3.Is hell bent on destroying America at any cost.

4.Is perfectly willing to kill millions with the bio-weapon posing as a vaccine.

5. Will bankrupt the country as fast as they can.

6. Will keep borders open to hopefully alter any future elections.

7.Many other issues but by now we all get the drift.

Also in the news this week is the saga of Rep.Kevin McCarthy. I posted this a few hours ago:

Trump vs. McCarthy By now every freeper here has heard that Kevin McCarthy shot off his mouth about Trump like so many other rino A-hollls do when Trump is not around to hear them. Chickensh_ts all.

Unfortunately for Kevin it appears he was talking to Liz Cheney on the phone and the conversation was mysteriously taped(Cheney most likely lying her fat old ass off-- claims she didn't tape of give the conversation to the driveby press--yeah right Liz we believe ya!!) It's clear what Trump supporters think about McCarthy's big mouth--he could rot in hell as far as most are concerned.

The bigger question is what does Trump think about the situation. Accd. to the Wash. Post Trump is giving McCarthy a pass of all things! One has to wonder about his motivation. The misdeed by McCarthy is below in the clip from the link.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2022/04/22/trump-mccarthy-resignation-comments/ Below a clip form the wapo link:

For now, McCarthy appears to have avoided blow-back from the top of the party. Many Republicans seem to be waiting for a cue from Trump about how to respond, though some have weighed in to defend or criticize McCarthy.

And The Post reports he spoke with Trump after the audio of the call was released, and Trump was not upset — indeed, he was even happy that McCarthy hadn't followed through on what he had said privately.

Trump has been more accommodating of McCarthy than McConnell. They soon patched things up after McCarthy publicly blamed Trump for not quelling the Jan. 6 riot and even floated a historic censure resolution against Trump. McCarthy has also been more solicitous of Trump than McConnell has. And that could matter for the fate of his career.

Recent history is instructive when it comes to those with whom Trump is willing to reconcile.

..................................................

Bottom line however if there is any question about whether or not McCarthy is a slimedog or not, this is not his first shot at becoming Speaker, just in case some have forgotten. Below is a little reminder:

https://www.catholic.org/news/politics/story.php?id=64623

Kevin McCarthy quits speaker race amid allegations of affair with Renee Ellmers

Catholic Online News Politics & Policy

Allegedly intimate video of the pair has been released.

According to Washington insiders, Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) is having an affair with Renee Ellmers (R-NC). McCarthy dropped out of the Speaker race, and may have done so because an unknown insider is circulating a surveillance video on Capitol Hill, of him dining with Ellmers in an intimate setting.

So we see McCarthy is not above talking crap about the President behind his back nor cheating on his wife to the point of everyone finding out about it and having to step down from one of the most coveted positions in politics:

SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE

So the bigger question is why is Trump giving McCarthy a pass on a loyalty question in which McCarthy shows an epic fail. Perhaps Trump is taking a page from one of the most hated liberals around:

Hillary Clinton.

Remember her FBI files? Maybe Trump has his own files. Who knows. Sometimes: the criminally inclined you know is better that the supposed good guy you don't know.

That may well be the position of the President regarding who is Speaker. He may well have made a deal with McCarthy to go all out and support him for Speaker as long as from now on: he stops all the corruption and plays it straight for a change.

If so Trump could own the House at a time when it's crucial to have a House of Reps. on your side. And, it all starts with the Speaker. Is this more of Trumps 4D chess? We many never know.
