Thank you for that information. So a typical surgical mask gives one 30 minutes of time. Those are the loose fitting paper masks with the ear loops. No doubt an N95 (properly worn, no beard, etc.) would give one a longer amount of time.

Even if an N95 gave you an hour....not really much time in real life....good enough for a doctor to pop in and examine an infected patient. Also note that that was a modelling study, we know real life studies that are randomized and controlled show that even surgical masks don’t stop viruses in health care workers....N95’s are better but half the studies show they don’t work either.

• COVID-19 is transmitted, at least in indoor settings, not only by droplets but also by smaller aerosols. However, due to their large pore size and poor fit, most masks cannot filter out aerosols (Clin Inf Dis. 2020;71:2311–2313). Over 90% of aerosols penetrate or bypass the standard surgical mask and fill a medium-sized room within minutes.

I think you need to rethink your assumptions here. There is no free 30 min for virus particles.
PS The point is we have been living with viruses as long as there have been humans. We do not run screaming from them or go around in bubbles. 99.9% survivable just like many of the other viruses we coexist with.
People that go off the deep end get the complications & bacterial infections from rebreathing their own concentrated bacteria and from the moist conditions caused by masks. Have you missed those articles about pneumonia & meningitis?

A person might say that masks may not stop aerosols but this doesn’t mean masks did nothing. Well, multiple real-world randomized clinical trials show us that masks do not significantly stop the transmission of viruses. These studies are then backed up by meta-analyses (the highest form of medical evidence) by the most highly respected sources we have (Chochrane reviews).

ANALOGY: Wearing water-resistant pants in a rainstorm may keep you dry for 5 minutes but in real life you are out there for more than 5 minutes and thus those pants did not stop you from getting wet and cold.
