“My point is, they are no threat to the US. They are a sad little country”
Seriously? You’re joking, right?
The West makes them a threat by their actions/inactions.
The US would have a hard time winning a ground war against Russia. Our woke army
Would be in for a rude awakening.
The West’s only hope be a war of long-range missile attacks and hope we get off more than they do.
Russia has hypersonic long-range missiles, the latest being the Sarmat, meaning “eternal”, which is a hypersonic intercontinental ballistic missile, weighing 100 tons (the US biggest is the minute man weighing 35 tons) with a range of 18,000 km.
This allows it to carry up to 15 nuclear warheads, up to 75kt. In comparison the bomb we dropped on Hiroshima was 15kt.
Such capacity would be able to destroy an area as large as the country of France.
And all of this would go undetected, as we have no defense for such a missile.
Now, tell me again how we have nothing to fear from a sad little country.
Yes, they have nukes, otherwise they are rhird world country.
The 220 ton RS-28 Sarmat (Satan 2, or SS-X-29) is a heavy ICBM designed for delivery of next gen nuclear warheads, which Russia “formally” began designing in 2009 (actual 2002-2003), for next gen warheads produced as early as 2001/2002 (about the same time Putin began heavy re-nuclearization of Kaliningrad - official yet unofficial of course), literally in violation of every Nuclear Treaty since Reagan.
This was the reason Bush 43 ordered short suspense Patriot, THAAD, and AEGIS Ashore missile defense networks put in place early on.
Of course, Putin told Obama to cut off missile defense, so Obama happily complied.
Trump is the one who order completion, and saw active/working anti-nuclear defense operable in Central and Eastern Europe.
Anything faster than 3,836 mph (or Mach 5) is hypersonic.
The RS-28 Sarmat has a top speed of just under 16,000 mph (just under Mach 21), with a range of 11,000 miles.
Both the speed and distance are near typical to all ICBM’s, and all CCCP and US ICBM’s really since first gen ICBM’s.
While ICBM speeds are multiple’s of most “hypersonic’s”, and the ICBM’s are certainly hypersonic — *ICBM’s are not the class of missile being referred to with current “hypersonic’s”.
Modern hypersonic’s are typically referring to scram and ram jet engine powered missiles, tuned to rely on the forced gas/very high ptessure (to burn), and light gravity ratio of between 85,000 to 110,000 ft altitude to operate. Conversely, ICBM’s are “LEO” (low earth orbit), typically travelling well above the Stratosphere.
While the hypersonic tech is advancing rapidly and globally (and yes, Obama and HRC knowingly transferred hypersonic tech to Putin through the Skolkovo, receiving at least $145.5 million in return), technically ICBM’s are multiples faster than “hypersonic’s”, with greater range.
By the way, you won’t find this on the net, but Russia was testing this long before 2018. That number is about 9 years after “stuff”.
