Yes, wokeness of the wrong kind. I saw a video of First Baptist church, Orlando, with one of the most woke sermons I had ever heard. What’s even worse, the dude got a standing ovation, like the whole congregation was woke. If I had been there, I would have gotten up and walked out, right in the middle of it.
“..If I had been there, I would have gotten up and walked out, right in the middle of it....”
Same happened to me about 4-5 years ago where I used to attend. And yes, I did: I got up, walked out right in the middle of it and never went back. When approached by the so-called pastor as to why. I told him why; not Biblical, no respect for God’s Spirit, no salvation, no holiness, no righteousness, no prayer...no nothing; except religion-based, feel-good wokeness: just another modern day, liberal, American church. It was more of a social club than a church, except with a church tax exemption. And that my FR friends ended that conversation.
I ended up attending a little Pentecostal Holiness church not too far down the road from me that adheres to the Word of God. I must admit that going there for the first time, I felt like I had stepped back thru time a 100 years...LOL. Is it perfect? Nope. Does it preach the Word? Oooh yeah, under a heavy anointing.
FWIW, since COVID, BLM/Antifa riots, wokeness, grooming etc., our little church has almost doubled in size; mostly young couples with kids. All of em hungry for God. A group of the younger ladies with kids got together to combine their individual home schools together allowing their kids a godly alternative to what they’d be exposed to in the public schools today. I suspect that at some point, it will grow to where it will have to be registered as a private Christian school.
