My thought was similar as well. When it was announced they’ve course gave their “were disappointed“ speech and Biden himself even said it should be up to you or something to that effect. Then the left lost their mind over it and then a couple days later suddenly they decide they must put it back in place.

I predicted this last week. The Dems love the power the COVID issue gave them. The Philly Mayor’s lust for power and control was the sole reason for the new mandate. He was blind to the damage this would do to fed up voters who would get their say in November.
The DNC took Hizzoner to the woodshed and corrected his thinking.
That was short.
Sunk Cost fallacy at its best. And it gets better as the other side keeps screaming their demands.
They’re waiting for Fauci to succeed in his lawsuit so they’ll have legal cover to reinstate it again…
