It's a new high pressure 6.8, using a case similar to the 7.62x51/.308 but with a steel case head. In terms of performance, it's about the same as the classic .270 Winchester (which might be a better option for civilians limited to bolt action or semi-auto firearms ;>)...
The 6.8 Fury is a .270 with a 16 inch barrel.
I am curious what it would do in a 20 inch bolt action, but at 80K PSI, that needs some big lugs.
