Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday called off an operation to storm the Azovstal steel plant in the city of Mariuol, where over 2,000 Ukrainian militants remain entrenched, according to the Russian military. At a meeting with Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu, the head of state demanded that the plant be blocked so that "even a fly can’t get in or out," and another offer to surrender be made to those holed up at the facility. TASS has put together vital information on decisions made by the commander-in-chief.
Russian troops and the forces of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) have taken control of the entire city of Mariupol except for the Azovstal plant, Shoigu reported to the president. According to the defense chief, the plant, where "the remaining nationalist militants and foreign mercenaries are ensconced," has been securely blocked. Shoigu pointed out that the Kiev regime had significantly fortified Mariupol where about 8,100 troops, militants from nationalist battalions and foreign mercenaries were stationed at the time when the city was surrounded. Over 4,000 Ukrainian fighters were killed during military activities and another almost 1,500 surrendered to Russia. However, Shoigu did not reveal the number of Russian casualties.
Russian and DPR forces took every measure to protect civilian lives during the operation to liberate Mariupol, the defense minister stressed. Starting on March 21, humanitarian corridors for the evacuation of civilians and foreign nationals opened every day, Russia managed to evacuate 142,700 people and release all those who were being held hostage at the Mariupol port. The current situation in the city "makes it possible to launch activities to restore order, ensure the return of local residents and set up peaceful life," Shoigu added.

Holed up underground is not defending.It will not take much to bury it with his bunker busting bombs- no- he is just as curious as I as to who is hold up down there….as we used to called it, a high value target. Vlad’s tactics of “ siege” are meant to reduce casualties, but he needs to find out ( he probably already knows- not all Ukies support this war continuing).
Don’t get sucked into all of Ukraine is United, and will fight Ivan to the death. Remember, Ukraine was Russian till 1991 when the Soviet Union broke up and the Ukies declared their Independence. Be reminded, the Donbass declared their Independence in 2015 from Ukraine, but they were bombed for it….

I lived , worked and trained Ivan’s for three years, in Moscow. Vlad is as popular as Trump is, if you can’t figure out I am much older and wiser, been there, done that, carry on junior.
That said, don’t believe the western MSM war cheerleaders, non western aligned countries ( almost 70 percent of the worlds population ) can see thru this bad Vlad agenda.

I will skip rebuttal to your first misconception , but answer your second. The Ukies are running on less than half a tank, they will be getting the fuel ( arms, ammo men) low lite soon. Why else the begger Zelensky is wanting arms, aircraft, men, ammo, no fly zones? Our Pentagon even states he is systematically targeting arms/ men inflow in WESTERN Ukraine with 50 pin point strikes a day.
Get used to it, Vlad is winning, not how the western armchair commandos think, he has unlimited resources. Get back with me in a month or two when his stated objectives are met:
1)No NATO admission.
2) denazification ( largely accomplished) , and
3) the Donbass provinces gaining their Independence from Ukraine. Read his war speech, he is moving slowly, but predictably.
Lastly, the EU and Ukrainians are starting to question Zelensky’s motives, war, war, war,more death and destruction for what? The west is hell bent on fighting bad Vlad down to the last Ukrainian. Think about that.

I Agree, and would like to add, Chechnya II is somewhat unique, I believe there was massive amounts of Russian anger toward Chechnya and Chechens over Belsan, and it had a bearing on the violence used and the results.

OK, I read the entire article.
Nowhere, in the Article does the author or anyone quoted or represented, blame Putin, Russians, Russia, Zelensky, Ukrainians, or Ukraine Particularly for Vanda's death.
Then I researched a bit and found the Russian Language page of Chabad News here:
I searched Habad for the same Article, but got no results as I believe it would be titled differently for Russian readers.
The important point is Chabad/Habad is accepted for Jewish news and affairs in the West AND East and is not assigning blame.
As to the comments on the Article, only one of nineteen, mentions Putin and Russia as the parties to blame for this death.

Vanda's death is a tragedy that can happen in War.
Vanda lived safely in her beloved Soviet Russian controlled city of Mariupol for decades, and in the Russian Speaking city of Mariupol Ukraine, with Russian neighbors, safely for another decade, and through political disagreement in her beloved Mariupol for the better part of a decade.
But she lived only three years after Zelensky ASSUMED the Presidency of Ukraine.
