You are absolutely correct in your observation. No Marine EVER refers to themselves as a former Marine. A possible exception would perhaps be a Marine who served solely in Administrative services. Though I’ve never met even one of those who has ever done so.
Yes, that’s the term they use. Most actual military people know that, but go ahead and think you know something different.
Yes. All of us not on active duty status are ‘former’ Marines. We are NEVER ex-Marines.
