Trump walks out of explosive Piers Morgan interview after being pressed on 2020 election

Former President Donald Trump blasted Piers Morgan as “very dishonest” while walking out of an interview with the TV presenter and Post columnist after being pressed on his claims that he lost the 2020 presidential election due to voter fraud.

The 45th president became increasingly frustrated with Morgan’s questions, at one point calling him a “fool,” according to clips of the sit down.

“I think I’m a very honest man … much more honest than you, actually,” Trump said at one point.

“Really?” Morgan asked.

“Yeah,” Trump responded.

Elsewhere, Morgan told Trump the 2020 vote “was a free and fair election. You lost.”

“Only a fool would think that,” Trump shot back.

“You think I’m a fool?” Morgan retorted.

“I do now, yeah,” Trump responded.

Trump has alleged almost since Election Night of 2020 that moves to expand mail-in voting due to the COVID-19 pandemic concealed election fraud by Democrats and their surrogates in key swing states like Arizona, Georgia and Pennsylvania.

“With respect, you haven’t produced the hard evidence,” Morgan said of Trump’s claims as the former president attempted to interject.

“I don’t think you’re real,” the former president said to Morgan, later turning to the production crew and calling his interviewer “very dishonest.”

The preview clip ended with Trump getting out of his seat and ordering production to “turn the camera off.”

“Very dishonest,” he added while walking away.

Describing the experience in a Thursday column for The Post, Morgan revealed he also told the former president that he blamed Trump’s refusal to admit defeat for the deadly Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot.

“Then you’re a fool! And you haven’t studied,” Trump responded, according to Morgan.

Morgan recounted that Trump called him a fool six more times in the interview, described Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.)

He’s done that many times in other interviews.

I believe the questioner insulted himself by asking Trump if he thought he was a fool.

Dear Double Chin,
Apparently, you have selective hearing. I’ve heard him a number of times. But if you are looking for that info on your usual viewing channels like MSNBC, then probably not. Expand your horizons.

“Trump’s bombastic personality.” Those are some big words there, son. I hope you know what they mean. BTW: Please name a politician other than the over-mentioned DeSantis that you feel has the right personality to be the Republican presidential nominee/president.

I thought Laura Ingraham didn’t want to talk about it. She didn’t say it was the most secure election and he lost.

No- I’m looking at how elections are won and lost, not about what’s right or wrong.

I didn’t say anything about the interview with Morgan. I asked for a link to where Trump himself gave a detailed, logical explanation of the 2020 fraud, and what specifically should be done for 2024 to prevent it from happening again.

Your whole thread here is about your perception of Trumps’ behavior during the PM interview. You were dissaproving in your comments because you felt he didn’t handle well. Stop the deflection. You’ve been proved wrong.

It was not just about this interview. It wasn't really about this particular interview at all. It's about the last nearly year and a half of relentless whining about the election but failing to actually articulate clearly the issues and, more importantly. What should be done to prevent a repetition of that in 2022 and 2024. He's just failed to do that, period.

And I know those kind of details aren't his strength...but that's kind of the problem.

Just from memory, he’s talked about the mail in ballots, of people taped stuffing the drop boxes, and people going in person to vote and not allowed to because their ballot had been mailed. He’s talked about the any places that had more votes for Biden than registered voters. He’s talked about the numerous places that miraculously found votes at 3 AM, and about the places that wouldn’t allow republican watchers.

That’s just a few I recall. And they knew what areas in what states to concentrate on to get so many electoral votes.

““Trump’s bombastic personality.”

I believe you are talking to the wrong poster. But, no one better than DeSantis.

“Just from memory, he’s talked about the mail in ballots...”

Back in 2020, I got numerous flyers from the Trump Campaign asking me to vote by mail. Included in the flyer was a pre-filled out form which I would have had to sign and send to the SOS to request a mail in ballot.

“While President Donald Trump claims mail-in voting is ripe for fraud and “cheaters,” his reelection campaign and state allies are scrambling to launch operations meant to help their voters cast ballots in the mail.

Through its partnership with the Republican National Committee, Trump’s campaign is training volunteers on the ins and outs of mail-in and absentee voting and sending supporters texts and emails reminding them to send in their ballots. In Wisconsin, where a special congressional election is scheduled on Tuesday, the Trump campaign last week blasted out a reminder via Twitter: “Request an absentee ballot by 5 pm TONIGHT.””

I wasn’t calling anyone names only simply mentioned what others have called people for decades now. And that is useful idiots.

Now here is something interesting found on Breitbart. Deceptive Edits: Audio Contradicts Piers Morgan. Shows he Warped Trump Interview Ending In Promo.

Maybe some of you folks who will not vote for President Trump based on his “Personality”, his “crudeness”, his “vulgarity” the “He’s ok but past his prime argument” ought to read this. Maybe it will be eye-opening. One can only hope. But won’t get those hopes too high. There is a reason why the term “useful idiots” was coined in the first place.
