Peeps leaving Netflix was long in coming, but yeah, some peeps just s l o w......
Keep going
You can get to 100 netflix
It was about $20 a month for us. We dropped it a couple of months ago after we had watched the Breaking Bad series.
The issue is that there really isn’t anything new.
Movie and show streaming services have run their course since once you have watched all of the new movies (old and new) and watched all episodes for your favorite show, there is nothing new and probably won’t be anything new for a long time.
And a smart consumer will stop the subscription once they have watched everything. Most consumers probably do this.
Most of the new shows are shown on network TV and maybe a year later, will eventually make it to streaming services. Some services like Sling stream network TV unlike Netflix.
Add to the fact that your average viewer doesn’t like the woke crap, there will be less and less new content.
Netflix is $16.73 with tax. It is a bargain.
Amazon Prime is about $100 year & includes free shipping as well as a streaming service. A bargain.
The reason why they are not growing is they have eliminated Russia as a market. They are a little too woke & many people have gone back to work & stopped watching.
Dollar for dollar a streaming service /b/that you use/>b/ is a good deal. Especially when you look at what a movie theater ticket costs.
Lost up to 38% today.
Now just a mere -35.59%
Over $50 billion in one day!!
They went from a high of $690 in Oct 2021 to today’s $224.
They will no longer have Marvel / Disney content.
They raised their prices too high as well.
I was one of their subscribers who quit them.....after they put Obama on their board!!! Evidently I wasn’t alone!!!
What did they expect with their massive subscriber cost increase.
Go woke go broke…Disney is next…
GO WOKE, GO BROKE!
GOOD RIDDANCE!
Down 44% in April
” I think it is about $70 per month.”
Quit thinking.
This is not the music industry where customers repeatedly listen to the same music, no one watch’s a Bond movie every few days......
The problem is the writers: they can’t imagine functional people succeeding, so there is nothing inspirational or aspirational about their writing. It all very predictably falls between “soap opera” and “reality show”.

Beautifully stated, hopespringseternal.
My wife and I watch TVJAPAN every day. She’s from Japan. I am not in the least capable in the language. But even still, with some occasional English help understanding details about a TV drama’s point, the production values and as you say, the “aspirational and inspirational” quality of the NHK programs is so excellent — and with dramas in particular, it really doesn’t matter much that I don’t know the language.
What TVJAPAN programming achieves is the betterment of the culture, work ethics, courage, and morals of the nation.
My Dad and many millions of WW2 vets beat back the terror of what Japan had become, and after the war, we helped them return to their sanity and citizen control of their government.
However, many decades later it’s time we started learning from them how to produce media/entertainment that builds and sustains a great nation.
If I was Uncle Joe, I wouldn’t be suggesting other reasons. I would be blaming Russia, Russia, Russia and then some more Russia.
OBUGGERY is a big part of this.
I decided to cancel NF after they announced their partnership with the Obamas. Actually got around to canceling when they invited Susan Rice to join their board.
Disappointed I can’t cancel them more than once.
Capitalism at work, raise your price above your apparent worth and you lose income. Drop the COST of Netflix and watch subscriptions increase. There is no magic here.
Just like Denzel Washington told those thugs in Equalizer 2. Too bad I can’t kill you more than once!
I was thinking of Hulu with live TV which is $70 per month; Also Youtube TV is $65 per month.
Netflix is about $16 per month (more or less, depending), but no live channels.
For myself it is all academic; I won't be paying any for any of them.
