Canceled our subscription this morning and got an error screen when doing so but did get email confirmation. Good riddance.

Also adding ads soon.

One of my inlaws is in advertising. He said he didn’t worry about streaming cutting into ad money, as they will go the way of cable “Sooner than you think.”

Remember when cable didn’t have ads?

Netflix flat doesn’t have enough content that I want to watch.

As evil as it is YouTube gives me more pleasure than any of them, they don't censor the stuff I watch. I have many terabytes of decent video I have recorded and edited over the years do I could watch sever months of shows before I repeated anything and by then I will have forgotten them all over again. No reruns for geezers folks.

Streaming device and watch lots of free content, or pay per streaming service and choose what you want. I haven’t had cable in years.

Thee are already several streaming service you can get for free if you accept commercials. Peacock and Pluto come to mind I am sure there are many others.

That was a hope back in the CATV days and we know how that worked out.

Youtube channels I subscribe to seem to always have the Amazon Fresh grocery ads ad nauseam with the mask wearing couple with the excited woman with fist pump over getting a grocery cart and with the guy wearing a bandana and wide horizontal strip shirt (think 1970’s) that changes colors along with his pants in the next frame and the too much hair announcers where one of them is also wearing a horizontal strip shirt and the overdone set.

Jon Stewart’s new show on Apple TV is a bust too. Good news!

I saw a portion on video of the recent one he did about white privilege. It was so terrible, I couldn't believe even he would stoop so very low.

I go out of my way to avoid anything advertised on youtube. I suppose there’s a subconscious effect possible (brand recognition), but I try my best. Most of it is selling terrible junk anyway.

I subscribe to YouTube Premium so don't see all those adds. Best money I spend on TV Service for now, unfortunately the big channels are now including many commercials within their show. If the keep it up I will just find some struggling poster trying to get started. I don't think I have had a single problem that someone has not posted a how to video on YouTube.

I find that playing a video of some guy out in the woods trying to drag a timber twice his size to his cabin much more satisfying than any cable news show. I have my computer hooked to a 70 inch TV so I can watch a video while reading FreeRepublic.

I watch Pluto TV then switch over to my subscribed Youtube channels. Besides what I subscribed to they show other suggestions and I end up watching those other shows many times.

The Youtube shows are generally 15 minutes or less although a few can be 30 minutes but I find myself skipping thru the longer ones.
They also have many history channels which tend to be 50 minutes long.
The Youtube videos are more entertaining then many regular tv shows.

On Pluto tv I watch many shows like Gunsmoke and Johnny Carson and This Old House. They have hundreds of shows to watch.
