CRISPI: AMERICA FIRST REPUBLICANS DRAW COLUMN A (NJ)

It’s a hot day in ocean county today and Chris Smith is sweating – but not because of the weather. In a blow to the Republican establishments of Ocean and Monmouth Counties, America First Republicans led by Mike Crispi have drawn Column A in both counties. Today’s result gives Crispi and his slate an advantage of having the most coveted ballot position.

“The drawing of Column A in both counties gives our America First Republican team that ballot position that every New Jersey political organization wants,” Crispi said. “Chris Smith will be held accountable for his liberal voting record — his opposition to the Second Amendment, his support of a federal vaccine database, his vote for critical race theory, his support for Biden’s fake infrastructure bill, and especially for the campaign contributions he took from pharmaceutical companies that perform grotesque research on fetal tissue. Every entrenched insider who is attached at the hip of Smith will be replaced by my running mates and we look forward to showing them all the door on June 7,” Crispi added.

In the 4th congressional district Crispi is challenging 42-year incumbent Chris Smith. Ocean County Commissioners, and long-time political insiders, Ginny Haines and Jack Kelly are facing challenges from Toms River Board of Education member Ashley Lamb and Sergio Fossa. In the neighboring county of Monmouth Crispi will be joined by former Freeholder Gary Rich who is now taking on Shaun Golden, who doubles as Monmouth County Republican party boss and sheriff. Also joining Crispi will be Englishtown Councilman Daniel Francisco and former Young Republican Chairman Steven Rich.

I think Smith was viewed as being from the conservative wing of the GOP when he was first elected in the Reagan landslide.

Hopefully, Chris Smith will be dispatched in the primary.

Better than any RAT candidate, but with the RAT infestation that has plagued Monmouth and Ocean counties over the past two years, we may end up with one.

That lasted all of one year. In 1981, Smith got his record high rating of 87% Conservative from the ACU. A year later when he was expected to lose reelection to a Demonrat ? It dropped to 41% Conservative. Aside from a couple of times when he scored in the high “moderate” range, he’s never scored as high as his first year ever since.

In the last year (2020) rated, he got all of a 35.7% Conservative rating. He’s closer to the average ultraleft Demonrat (10% Conservative or less) than to the mainstream of the GOP (closer to 85% Conservative).

If it wasn’t for the fact he’d lose renomination solely for being pro-life, he’d be more comfortable switching parties.
