My position has not changed since Day One of Putin v. Ukraine.
Putin's invasion of Ukraine was completely irrational.
He could have bribed a half dozen Ukrainian officials and got a 99 year military lease for a base and safe harbor on Crimea.
He could have bribed another half dozen and got his land bridge to Crimea and quasi-independence for the Donbas region.
Instead, Putin starts the largest hostile military action in Europe in the last 77 years!

You assumptions are wrong. The US/Nato had already bribed half of Ukraine with billions.
