Why? It is not particularly intact at this point. It is just just to huge to mop up without casualties, meaning needs to blow up. Alternatively, the garrison needs to give up because it makes no sense to hide.

Agreed as is the nearby Industrial NEON gas plant. The NEON gas plant is one of only a few in the world (another being in Odessa) that produces the Industrial Neon required for microchip manufacturing. If Russia captures the Mariupol and Odessa plants intact, they will control about 75% of the world’s industrial NEON supply with China co trolling almost all of the rest. Even the largest microchip producers in the world only have about a 45 day supply of Industrial NEON remaining and it is very difficult to produce. It would take about 8 months to a year for the US to get an Industrial NEON facility up and running.
