Some Americans may be reminded of the words of one-time New York gubernatorial candidate Jimmy McMillan — the rent is still "too damn high" — with the latest rental data showing a 17% surge in major U.S. cities from a year ago. Renters paid a median monthly rent of $1,807 in March, according to Realtor.com.

That double-digit spike even outpaced an 8.5% increase in consumer prices during the same period, with inflation hitting a 40-year high in large part due to higher costs at the gas pump.

Which dovetails in nicely with the actual inflation rate of 17% if it were calculated using the original CPI from 1981.

Homelessness is about to increase at about the same rate. People cannot afford to live in a home, when not only has the rent increased, but so has their food, utility costs, gas for their car, etc. Everything has gone up in price. Yes, employers are paying more but not enough to offset the rise in prices on everything.

Employers are paying more for their costs as well. We are soon going to see businesses who barely made it through their state and local government’s draconian lock-down measures close their doors for good which will put more people out of work and out of their homes. Recession here we come!

FJB!

The economy, our laws, the border, WW3, helping our enemies, screwing taxpayers, backroom deals, etc and so on.

We’re all just sitting and waiting.

And inevitably the government will step in and start mandating where people can live.

That's more than I pay for a house I bought brand new in 2015. And I have three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a very large two car garage. And it's in a gated community.

“And inevitably the government will step in and start mandating where people can live.”

++++++++

That’s where we are heading. They already tell you how many people you can have living on your property, what you grow or raise on that property, and whether or not you can cut the trees on your property. In order to “save the planet” we will soon be required to all live atop each other in government designated locations. Of course, government officials who make the rules, will have big houses on large acreage tracts. But it will be for the good of all that they do so.
