China’s trade boom defies new Cold War

NEW YORK – China’s exports to the United States reached a new peak of nearly $700 billion in March, according to data released by the country’s statistics agency.

That compares with a seasonally adjusted annual rate of just $410 billion in August 2019, when the Trump administration imposed tariffs on a wide range of Chinese imports.

US imports from China have risen by about 60% since the tariffs came into effect, reflecting a surge in consumer spending driven by $6 trillion of government stimulus during the Covid-19 epidemic, as well as flagging capital investment in domestic US manufacturing and a shortage of qualified factory workers.

China now accounts for about 28% of US imports of manufactured goods.

If China's $700 billion is 28%, then we must be importing about $2.5 trillion annually in manufactured goods.

The entire world...particularly the *civilized* world...will come to regret the decision that the world's advanced nations (the US,Europe,Japan, etc) made to allow Chinese made goods into their ports. Mao and his successors were/are far, far,*far* more dangerous than Stalin and his successors ever dreamed of being.

I'm very glad indeed that I'm far closer to the grave than to the cradle because I wouldn't wanna be around when President Alexandria Occasional Cortex is up against a Chinese navy that's 10 times bigger than it is today.

spent about $3,000 on household/stuff/junk the past month.
ALL made in China.
Clipper for summmer haircuts, toaster, etc . . .

Try and buy a starter motor or alternator for your car NOT made in China.

“Made in America” is great, but most of what you need or buy isn’t.

History shows it won’t change, but will continue.

The entire manufacturing ecosystem has left the country.

From GWB on, off-shoring and financialization have destroyed America.

---"driven by $6 trillion of government stimulus during the Covid-19 epidemic"

This is a window into what the pandemic has been all about. The whole shebang is debt-based, Democrat-cheered and much available to be siphoned off by the many forms of corruption we read in various news items.

The Marxist-led WHO, their political allies in the West and the Communist Chinese have managed a hysteria driven "epidemic" to pry loose massive amounts of money for the few and elite.

All of this built on a 0.078 percent mortality rate globally, according to official data from official sources.
