There are only two choices that can win and only one who can win the general. Throw your vote away and it’s a half a vote for the Jeb Bush Republican.
But, but . . . if Trump is such a big swinging d*ck, politically-speaking, wouldn't his full-throated endorsement of her give her the "name recognition" she needs within the Republican Party? I mean, isn't that what Trump himself lays claim to be able to do? We're talking a primary election, no?
Or maybe Trump isn't interested in any true political heavy-lifting and is content to take the lazy man's way out and support any front-running celebrity type who'll stroke his ego. Maybe that's it, huh?
Bingo. Trump’s endorsement and funding of actual conservatives through his PAC could take care of any “name recognition” problem and lack of $$$$ problem that someone like Barnette is dealing with.
But that would require more effort than just issuing a press release and wouldn’t *guarantee* victory anyway. Trump’s current approach in Senate races aside from Alaska is like making a bet on a football game at halftime and simply taking the team that’s already ahead by 40.
You’re absolutely right. He likes Oz because Oz has been on television for 18 years and people like him. That’s supposedly what Trump said in his endorsement.
I suggest he stay on the golf course and keep his nose out of Pennsylvania politics. I don’t vote for carpetbaggers who know nothing about Pennsylvania.
I’ve seen one yard sign for Kathy Barnett. Television stations in western PA haven’t even sponsored debates so we can evaluate the Republican candidates. It’s just been non-stop McCormick and Oz ads where they attack each other.
I’ve gotten a couple of mailings from Carla Sands. Even she’d be better than Oz. She at least was born in Pennsylvania and attended school here. And she was Trump’s ambassador to Belgium and a big contributor to his campaign.
Carla Sands spoke at a candidate’s forum last night in Allentown.
