The airline industry is continuing to call for the end of the federal mask mandate, making it clear “we need to remove these mandates” as federal health officials extend it yet again.

Exactly. Give back every penny of the bailout money or STFU.
If they really want to end the mandates, then just tell their employees to stop enforcing them. Let the feds put Air Marshals on every flight to play “mask police” and see how that goes.
Ouch!
At least 25 billion and counting...
From some of the articles I’ve read/videos I’ve seen, it seems like these flight attendants relish their new mask *authority* privileges way too much.
So of course the Biden administration responded (today) by extending the airport/airline mandates.

Vaccine shot one, stupid,
Shot two, Mega stupid,
Booster, absolute STUPID moron!
Yes, and while it’s interesting they want to ditch masks now, their employees have tarnished their reputation by playing mask enforcers for the last 2 years and ruining peoples lives and plans - just because they can - with management behind them all the way.
I was born premature and my lungs were not fully developed.
Flying with a mask on is not something I can do.
Yes, which is why the airlines would have to order them not to enforce the mandates or it wouldn’t work. If the airlines simply stopped requiring them to enforce mandates, they would still voluntarily step up to do it anyway.
Can you say, “Arbitrary and capricious?”
