Russian troops aimed to take control of the city of Mariupol on Tuesday, part of an anticipated massive onslaught across eastern Ukraine, as defending forces tried desperately to hold them back.
Russia is believed to be trying to connect occupied Crimea with Moscow-backed separatist territories Donetsk and Lugansk in Donbas, and has laid siege to the strategically located city, once home to more than 400,000 people.
"It is likely that in the future the enemy will try to take control of the city of Mariupol, capture Popasna and launch an offensive in the direction of Kurakhove in order to reach the administrative borders of Donetsk region," the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said on Facebook.
The Russian defence ministry said it army had thwarted an attempt to break the siege with "airstrikes and artillery fire" at a factory in a northern district of the city.

Apparently theyre going to flood the underground location where AZOV is hiding.
This is difficult to do and perhaps will not be needed.
The other part of Uke forces — these appear to be mostly marines in a different plant north of Azovstal — seems to be surrendering.
They tried an organized breakthrough two days ago, failed, a hundred surrendered yesterday (including a British merc), and per Russian sources the rest (1200, including 300 wounded) are negotiating a safe surrender now.
Azov may take a hint.
News is 48 hours behind, Russkies say they’ve taken Mariupol, other than a few isolated pockets hiding in basements.
Mercs don't have POW protection. Russians have threatened to kill them outright.

Azovs eithergoing to end up dead or in Siberia
JAPAN has removed its neonazi designation from the far-right Ukrainian Azov Battalion in the country’s handbook on international terrorism.
The Public Security Intelligence Agency (PSAI) said it regretted its listing, for which it apologised, saying it had originally been added due to “cases of misinformation.”
“The 2021 guide includes data collected from various open sources, including foreign and Japanese media, research institutes, and others,” it said in a statement, noting that the findings were not an independent evaluation.

Depends on whom they surrender to. DNR, unlike Russia, has a death penalty, and they have active cases against more notable Azov figures.

Anyway... it looks like 1300 marines changed their motto from “never surrender” to “never say never”... and this is the full end of the 36 brigade — the rest are dead.
Kiev already reported on this event by saying that heroic 36th broke through the Russian ranks and joined Azov.
They have SS tattoos, and SS Runes on their helmets, and 2nd SS flag and patches. And Bandera is their godfather whom they revere. So Japan removing them from the list is mostly meaningless. Also it’s not surprising, Japan was also in an alliance with the 3rd Reich.

Much more than Azov, as France is scared to death at what Russia is going to find, once Mariupol is fully liberated. In fact, there’s a good chance that Macron’s career in office will end as his ‘activities’ there are shown to the world.
Azov splintered into two groups and tried to break out of the city. The nazi fighters came under heavy fire....

I’ll give them credit for what they’ve done since the invasion (but not before, since they were simply terrorists)...they fought like REAL MEN, far better than the Reddit Brigade who flew over there trying to fight for Ukraine but were chased away by a few Russian Hypersonics.
