I can see that but too many times I have had “coworkers” who had their holster at fingertip on handle length. The lean to draw actually took time and slowed them down. I always kept mine at palm length and as soon as the tip was free I was swiveling and firing.
The first shot was sometimes a miss, but it made the other guy think about something else, giving me time to get my site picture.
On the range I was already in the direction of the silhouette and seldom, if ever, missed the target on the first or second shot.
I would rather have my palm solidly on the pistol rather than reaching with my fingertips.
