Trump can pretty much end this circus by stating (assuming he believes this) that good relations between the USA and Russia would depend upon Russia not sending its armed forces into other sovereign countries. That leaves a bit of wiggle room for negotiations about where the border between Russia and Ukraine should actually be.
As to going to any summits in liberated Mariupol, I would give that a very wide berth. Maybe Yalta?
