Last week I learned from a neighbor that Donald Trump deliberately allowed the Biden-Harris ticket to win the 2020 election so they could destroy the Democrats with stupid policies. I also learned that only a biologist can define a woman from the now confirmed nominee for a not-yet-vacant seat on the Supreme Court who was selected by President Biden because she was a Black woman. (Maybe he had a biologist on his staff to help him decide this.) Speaking of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson, I remembered that once again Democrats, including Biden, have taken credit for minority appointments after having dashed the prospects for those made by Republicans.
While Biden was on the[Senate Judiciary]committee in November 2003,[Janice Rogers ] Brown was nominated to the D.C. Circuit. She was met with a filibuster, garnering only 53 of the 60 votes needed to overcome that. Biden was among the senators that filibustered Brown and other Bush-appointed nominees from 2003 to 2005.A group called the Gang of 14, a group of 14 senators which included Biden, negotiated the end of that two-year filibuster in 2005.
It wasn't until June of 2005 that Brown was confirmed by the Senate, becoming the second Black woman to serve as D.C. Circuit judge. Biden voted against her nomination.
A month after Brown's confirmation, her name was floated for a Supreme Court vacancy.
Biden said on CBS' Face the Nation in July 2005 that he would not support a Brown nomination to the nation's highest court: "I can assure you that would be a very, very, very difficult fight and she probably would be filibustered."
I also learned that not for the first time Black nominees for office have exaggerated their struggles to reach top slots. Don Surber writes:

I just read that Trump is endorsing Dr. Oz, the mooselimb, turkish citizen and two faced liberal as the candidate for senate in PA.
Trump proves once again that no one is always right and this time he doubled screwed the pooch.
The line I read that really shows how Trump's daughter, Ivanka, is behind this, is that "Oz can win the women in Philly and Pburgh".
NFW, a kinder, gentler, semi squish that has zero convictions about anything, doesn't live in PA, and can not even be cleared for security {because he won't give up his Turkish citizenship} cannot win in PA.
Here is one time I hope that the libs on the View get to taunt Trump about picking a loser {in the primary}.
I'm backing McCormick, but there are several other pubbies I could back, Oz ain't one of them.
If Oz wins the primary, I'll have a real quandary.
Clarice post ping.
If the Democrats can nominate and confirm someone for a position that isn't yet vacant, then what would stop the Republicans from confirming replacements for ALL of the currently serving Justices, then when one dies or resigns, his or her replacement has already been chosen and confirmed by the Senate?
Sits there with mouth open!!!

Very interesting question. But.
What would stop Dems from doing the same? Like before the mid-terms.
I’m with you all the way on this one. Trump is making another huge mistake in endorsing Dr. Oz. There is much to admire in our 45th President, but his biggest failing is taking advice from his kids, even when it’s obvious they are drawing on the emotional side of their brain instead of reasoned thought. Trump’s greatest failing was his extremely bad judgement that put traitors and coup-plotters in his inner circle. Wolves in sheep’s clothing - too many of them endorsed by Ivanka, Jared, Don Jr., or Eric. Imagine for a moment where Trump would be - where all of us would be - without the evil effects of people like Sessions, Comey, Barr, Wray, Yates, Haley...my God, the list is legion...too many to name here.
What color is your house we must live in the same neighborhood
He inherited Comey and Yates. Yates would only have been acting Attorney General until the new one would have been confirmed. Barr, and probably Wray, he was forced by the RINOS in the Senate to accept. Haley was more or less defanged and served quite well in the UN.
Sessions, however, was a pure mistake. Unfortunately, that mistake was probably due to PDJT’s strength, ie not being involved in the political sphere. As his adminstration formed, it was quite obvious that he had a lot of good connections in trade, economics, and finance, but almost nothing apart from Rudy Giuliani in Law. And RG did not want to serve as Attorney General. That was the big difference between Trump and Reagan. Reagan had his connections from his time as Governor of California. The other difference, despite their public personae, was that Reagan was much quicker to dismiss people who could not defend his policies than Trump was. Let’s hope PDJT has learned from those mistakes...
