That said, it’s aligned with European thinking, the rights of the collective come first, not the individual. Therefore the only people that should be able to use a weapon is the collective...aka government.
I’m originally from the UK, I don’t discuss guns with friends and family over there. They do not think when it comes to the topic....”guns are bad” is the only thought they have and it is the end of the discussion, aside from them thinking less of you. Any consideration about being an ‘unarmed populace’ that is vulnerable to a freedom killing government is lost on them.
Having the rights of the individual coming first, before the will of the collective, is an American virtue. It is the only place that understands this concept. Not in the UK, Canada, mainland Europe, China, Russia, etc. or anywhere recognizes this right. This is what makes the USA special.
