Both us and Russia have to learn this is never the case. No many times exiles tell us an invasion will be easy, the population will never support the foreign back overthrow of their government even if they hate that government.
Every Cuban (ok 3 but still there are not many in the mid-west) whom I’ve talked to about it and were there said Castro was a fake and a dictator. He promised freedom and hoodwinked the western journalists.
They all said once he took over he just stole everyone’s property and destroyed their freedoms.
The 3 I’ve talked with:
1. Coworker of my daughter, she was a small child when it happened but could vaguely remember some of it
2. Guy in Miami who owned a Cuban restaurant, he remembered it well as he was a young teenager
3. Just this summer a woman with real estate in Cozumel Mexico. What is particularly worrisome is she said SHE SEES THE SAME TRENDS HER FAMILY EXPERIENCED IN CUBA BEFORE CASTRO TOOK OVER , in term of socialism being glorified etc. She said she is done with the US and despite Mexico having more crime is actually a more free place (yes hard to believe her on that one). She was also quite small and mostly shared her parents stories.
All 3 of them said they lost family members who were killed or just disappeared and all 3 fled when they were young with family. Of the 3 the one I utterly trust was my daughters coworker. That woman was quite, type B personality…definitely not the type to exaggerate or lie, plus my daughter had worked closely with her for 3 years.

None of the Deep State CIA/Dulles stooges and leg breakers for the oligarchy ever admitted to the fact that their Latin American coup engineering to benefit United Fruit and other raw material extraction and other forms of Yankee Imperialism might have been the reason why the Castros of the Americas existed in the first place.
