If it comes from a US intelligence agency bet the farm its a lie. At this point the US government has told so many lies they can’t keep track.
In a sane world the media would be tearing the US government apart for it’s criminal behavior but the media is now nothing more than a government propaganda ministry.
Almost the entire western worlds government, healthcare industry(note it is not a profession anymore) media and corporate sectors have so corrupted themselves they are too the point one has to question everything.
Lets face it the entire United States government is just as bad as the old Soviet Unions government circa 1982. As a former cold warrior this grates against my soul but it is true.
We are screwed.
[[”Meanwhile Big Tech Claims They Will Target Anyone Who Intentionally Uses Disinformation”]]
Has biden and ilk been banned from twitter yet?
Not just lying, hypocrisy, or even gaslighting. Actual doublethink.
[[Who gets to define what is misinformation, and who gets to define when one intentionally uses it?]]
The people who make lyign their life’s profession get to determine-
My sense is that the aftermath of the war will tell the truth. If Donbas and Crimea remain separate from Ukraine, then Russia won. If they are again in Ukraine, then Ukraine won.
Right now, I remember a document our government’s leading intel people said was true “The Trump Russia-gate Dossier”.
Doesn’t give me a lot of confidence in the establishment.
The title and some the reporters language is hyberpole - false and exaggeration - false and exaggeration that the way the U.S. is using strategic intelligence is “unprecedented”, never seen before, and never done similarly before. I guess the reporters are all just too young to know that idea is false, and too uneductated to not know older folks claiming agreement with the idea are also not telling the truth.
The ONLY disturbing and not exaggerated part is the joining of Big Tech and the government in defining what is misinformation. In the past majpor media sources often broke with the government informed narrative and exposed “holes” in the “intelligence” the government said it had and was using. Now Big Tech is possibly the largest combined “media” source and cannot be relied on as far as peoples’ only or main source of “reporting” to the American people.
What has to be broken through is the fog of what is strategic use of intelligence in a strategic information war with and against Russia, regarding the war theater in Ukraine, and what is not disinformation reporting regarding American and European activities in support of Ukraine, and why. If someone assumes the later is 100% part of the former, then to such a person there is no truth on the subject anywhere.
“disinformation, mis-information”
Nasty euphemisms to justify a lie.
Not surprised.
Nothing adds up.
We will see in 30 years what really happened.
I would modify that a bit.
If Ukraine keeps the black sea coast, it won a bit.
They didn’t have Donbas and Crimea at the start, and Ukraine has no means to take them.
I use a HiFi site that occasionally gets into subtle cultural or political stuff but has really tight rules about posting. That is, you’re not allowed to post anything political. So on one thread I was using the writtenhouse trial as an example of something and they deleted it because it was a political post. I told them it was not a political post but a post about a particular trial for someone who is accused of murder. But they told me that since some people see that as a political issue they had to delete my post.
So then today, someone starts a threat about using Disney Plus and I mentioned something about canceling their stuff and use the word woke somewhere in my post. Apparently the word is off limits and they deleted that post too.
How long did it take you to sniff out the fraud in the Dossier? About five minutes?
Some frauds are so obvious you know its a fraud long before you can prove it. Some are a little harder to suss out.
I agree what you’re saying about Donbas and Crimea, its what I was saying about the map. The map lies least. I will say, I don’t think Russia will ever give up Crimea, ever. I think if Ukraine can just get back the territory they held Feb 23, thats as good a win as they are going to get. And after everything, that would be a crushing defeat for Russia, if they finished at status quo ante. They need that land bridge or it was all for nothing. And Ukraine needs it or again, for them, a crushing defeat on top of all the human losses.
Check this out. Fbi lies.

Why is this not allowed to be on a news sidebar?

Misinformation is anything counter to the official government misinformation.
Good post. I tend to discount anything that comes from our government, sad to say. Including most especially FBI.
It’s sad to say. I remember the old Ephraim Zimbalist Jr “FBI” series. I thought of them as the gold standard among police agencies. How long ago all that seems. Now I just see them as our own political police, like any third world country. Probably they always were to some degree. Since the Clinton era they have really come down in my estimation, and irretrievably so since the “Russia Russia” scandals.
And of course I don’t believe anything that comes from a Democrat White House.
You really have to dig and discern these days.
I understand disinformation campaigns used in war and intelligence games but this admin is too sack-of-hammers stupid to do it right.
