The danger isn’t that the GOP will blow the midterms. It’s that they’ll blow what comes after. With a congressional majority they will rehabilitate Biden by passing parts of ‘build back better’ to show they can ‘govern’ and ‘compromise’. (This is also another reason why democrats don’t have to get rid of Biden).
Yeah, it seems too often that a conservative gets to Washington and is infected by Beltway Syndrome. They want to be liked and they want good press. Soon, they realize the best way to win praise from the media is to get along with Democrats.
But they never really like you. They fawned over John McCain until he ran against Obama. They vilified Mitt Romney when he ran against Obama, now they love him because he turned on Trump.
That's the problem with most politicians-they have no moral compass- they only have a desire to be liked.
