Why do you think the Germans, to this day, call the Soviet war memorial in Treptower Park, Berlin, "The Monument to the Unknown Rapist"?

Yeah, I know: the Wehrmacht raped Soviet women, too. And they shot female Soviet POWs. Don't Russian mothers teach their sons that "two wrongs don't make a right"?

The Americans did some raping in WW2 also, but "twenty-five years in Leavenworth and a dishonorable discharge" is an efficient deterrent. By contrast, some Soviet commanders encouraged their men to rape once they got to Germany.
