The T-64, and T-64A maybe. The T-64B was much improved.

Besides, they couldn’t be all bad in that 13,000 were produced.

As my personal friend Captain Obvious has noted on many occasions, "Training can be more important than hardware." The US spends much more money, time & effort on military training than most foreign countries. Purely hypothetical, but if you put a bunch of American tankers in T64s, with time allowed for standard US training, and sent them up against an equal number of M1 Abrams tanks with Russian crews (and standard Russian training), the results might be interesting. (Or is that essentially what happens at Ft. Irwin? ;>)

Anyone know if any Israeli units equipped with captured Soviet equipment ever faced Arab forces with M48s or M60s? Might not be the best comparison, though, because even the Jordanians may have spent more on training their armored forces than the Ruskies...
