Reminds me of how Christopher Wray appeared before Congress after the IG report came out showing an appalling degree of corruption in his own agency.

It was enough to make you vomit as he said with the appearance of total sincerity: “Gosh darn it, if I had only known about all these problems. Well its a really good thing we have this report so we can make sure it never happens again.” And then, he proceeded to virtually hold no one accountable.

The media, of course, has been like this forever. Back in newspaper days, if they absolutely had to issue a correction, it would be at the bottom of page 32, next to the daily grain report, in 6-point type.
