In California, the first reparations panel in the nation has spent two years trying to decide which African-Americans are eligible for reparations.
According to the Associated Press, the state’s panel on reparations, which was first created following a law signed by Governor Gavin Newsom (D-Calif.) in 2020, has been plagued with internal divisions over how many black Americans should receive financial compensation for alleged “racism.”
Since it was first fomed in June, some of the panel’s nine members have argued that only direct descendants of actual slaves prior to the Civil War should receive handouts, while others call for a more liberal distribution of funds to every black American. The warring factions led to the panel delaying its originally-planned vote last month.

How about none. Blacks have been getting Reparations since LBJ started the Great Society.

What about descendants of Blacks who owned slaves?
What about Blacks who are part European? Blacks in America have on average 20% White DNA.
Do these two categories of Blacks owe other Blacks reparations?
Do they owe themselves reparations?
How about if they are descended from Blacks who immigrated to the US after the end of slavery? Are they owed compensation too?
What percentage of one’s DNA must be traceable to antebellum slaves in order to receive reparations?
Are darker skinned Blacks entitled to more reparations than lighter skinned Blacks?
These are all questions the judges of the oppression olympics will have to decide.
Possible scenario:
The California authorities finally decide exactly who gets the payments. Then a "California gold rush" of African Americans from all over the country. State goes bankrupt, bailout from Washington.
Yup... It's like that old joke about "gathering files". I'm not opposed, as long as they STAY there...

I’m all for it...IF...they all part with everything they now have.
They would then receive...40 acres and a mule.
The ‘reparations’ should consist of a DNA test to determine what part of Africa your ancestors came from, and to establish that you are indeed the descendent of American Slaves... Some of the present day ancestors could be mostly Caucasian by now, so restricting reparations to ‘black’ people doesn’t make sense.
After your ancestry is determined, you should be offered a one way ticket to the area of Africa that your ancestors came from and enough money to live in that area for a year.
Then your DNA should be put in a database and your relatives should be banned from immigrating back to America, unless they pay back the cost of the reparations.
That them would include my friend in CA who was born in Great Britan. Her British ancestors were enslaved by the Irish. That would mean that Barack Obama, because of his Irish mother, would owe her reparations.
Blacks have been getting hand outs as long as I can remember.
My family are Black Irish. Where my gibsmedat?
And I never even get so much as a ‘thank you’! Go figure
They should stick to grab and loot. That gets them out of the house.
