you ARE aware that Twitter (and Facebook and Google) BAN any tweets that show the Russian point of view - both in propaganda and on battlefield reporting?

So post the pro-Russian links. I would think the Russkies would have thier own websites supporting their propaganda.

Even the mighty Stalin begged for US supplies in WWII, though he had 3x the population of tiny Germany *and* had started WWII in collusion with Hitler. Whereas Ukraine is tiny compared to Russia and has 1/3 Russia’s population. Of course Zelensky is begging for supplies.

Roosevelt should have told Stalin to go fuck himself.

[The subject is you fluffing Stalin.]

Fluffing Stalin by pointing out that Zelensky is doing far better than he did? That would be like fluffing Putin by suggesting that Biden is doing far better than he is. Maybe to you, fluffing = insulting. However, that’s not how most people use the word.

Germany would have killed off Russia in its entirety, seized Russia’s mineral resources and used that in its campaign to conquer the rest of the world. That’s thing with national security - if you don’t pay attention, a power that once seemed too small to bother with can become too big to resist without prohibitively high friendly casualties. Risk is a simple game, but it captures, unlike chess, the reality that territorial gains make you stronger, and that there are multiple opponents on the playing field.

The main one I want not to make it out alive or free after this war is Vlad Putin. Please let that vile criminal end up dead or locked up for life, and all his billions confiscated. Maybe use his wealth to rebuild Ukraine and pay reparations to the Ukrainians.

Illia Ponomarenko 🇺🇦
@IAPonomarenko
This is just unbelievable — Russian troops have left scores of firearms, vehicles, dead bodies, documents behind their backs as they were escaping the Kyiv region.
Lots of washing machines, toys, kitchen appliances, fry pans looted.
FUCKING FRY PANS.
Looted as trophies.

Well, that would certainly have cured your Russophobia.

The Mail and the Mirror both have printed more ttuth about the Progressives, Biden and the Left in America than any US source. Suddenly we are told not to believe them.

Mercinaries would be killed outright, but those casualties have no military markings - armbands or other identifiers.

Under the Law of Armed Conflict, civilians who spontaneously take up arms are not required to wear a uniform, or have identifying markers, so long as it is not "occupied" territory....those civilians would be a levee en masse, which is a lawful activity, and still warrant protections under the 6th Category of Article Four of Third Geneva Convention.

link - which includes the Russian Military Manual of 1990

I've been skeptical of most of the so-called "news" coverage of this war since day one - there has been an overwhelming amount of propaganda (from both sides) flooding FR. We recently had stories posted here regarding the Ukrainians shooting Russian POWs, and now we have this. Is either true? Are both true? Don't ask me. Could one of these incidents (real or fabricated) have prompted retaliation by the opposing side? I don't know.

Whatever the case, other countries may not treat civilians in a war zone the same way Americans might treat them. Specifically, the Geneva Conventions apparently classify some civilians who take up arms as "unlawful combatants", and although US forces might not summarily execute such individuals, other countries are obviously not bound by American law and morality.

With our own government treating dissenting Americans as "insurrectionists", more 'militant' citizens might at some future point want to remember that armed civilians are apparently considered POWs (rather than "unlawful combatants") under the Geneva Conventions if they:
(a) are being commanded by a person responsible for his subordinates;
(b) have a fixed distinctive sign recognizable at a distance;
(c) are carrying arms openly; and
(d) are conducting their operations in accordance with the laws and customs of war.

Does any of this apply to Ukraine? Again, I don't know, but we've seen multiple threads posted here showing photos of "armed civilians" (here, and here, for example), who did not appear to be wearing "distinctive" insignia, may not have been under command, and may not have been conducting themselves in accordance with the laws of war.

Given all of the 'shark-jumping' propaganda out there, I would not be surprised if some completely 'fake news' has had the unanticipated result of getting real people killed, somewhere along the line...

No, Putin did not do that. But, the MSM will simply refuse to push anything else, so fake becomes ‘real’. What I can’t understand is why people know the MSM/Biden, Pelosi lie about everything else, have worked to destroy Trump and America, but when it comes to Putin, they worship the treasonous MSM and carry the water for them.

I see an Academy award for these Crisis actors. That’s why you never see their faces. Seriously are we relying on Dailymail for intelligence? Theyre the CNN of the UK-they screamed Russia Russia Russia for three years over the election fraud, and they’re the first ones out of the gate with every fake news story about Trump. Talk to the actual living survivors of Mariupol and listen how they were tortured by the Ukrainian army and Nazi militias.
