Ghosts of Putin's Army: Columns of Russian armoured vehicles line the highways out of Kyiv in 'tank graveyards' as advancing Ukrainians find civilians shot with their hands tied behind their backs

Once-bustling highways on the outskirts of Kyiv have now become a graveyard for scores of Vladimir Putin's tanks as the Ukrainians continue their successful counterattacks around the capital.

Columns of Russian armoured vehicles have been reduced to rubble as President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's troops continue to repel Russian forces, and in some instances recapture roads and settlements near to Kyiv.

As Ukrainian units advance, they're met with burned-out tanks and heavily-armoured personnel transport vehicles that line the roads once populated by commuters that would have been heading in or out of the capital.

But far more grisly finds are being discovered in the villages and towns in Kyiv's urban sprawl. After recapturing Bucha from the Russian forces, Ukrainian troops found the bodies of 20 men in civilian clothes on a single street.

In what could be further evidence of Russian war crimes, eyewitnesses said one of the corpses had his hands tied, with the dead bodies strewn all over residential roads in the suburban town that was once home to 28,000 people.

President Zelensky warned Moscow's retreating forces are leaving behind 'catastrophic' situations by mining the areas outside their homes, abandoning their ruined equipment and the 'bodies of those killed'.

There you go again, changing the subject. Stalin had the resources that Russia has today - vast mineral resources, a territory 8x Germany’s, and a population 3x Germany’s, yet begged for supplies. The idea that Zelensky is some unique figure because he’s asking for supplies is obviously wrong - Zelensky is outgunned, vastly inferior in resources and doesn’t have Russia’s room to trade space for time. And yet the Russians haven’t been able to move much beyond their prewar positions, despite Zelensky being provided a fraction of the aid Stalin got. Zelensky has outperformed big time, relative to Stalin, whereas Putin has underperformed relative to Hitler.

Russian equipment has looked pretty neglected and rusty in general since at least 2002, and there is no requirement that they have to sand, paint, buff, and detail it prior to invasions to insure that it is spiffy. North Korea’s Navy has been looking very rough. In fact, even our stuff has been looking kind of shabby too, in recent years, though not quite as bad. In kleptocracies , the folks at the top often get richer by squeezing everything they can (see what Biden is doing to our oil reserves) from maintenance, food for troops, etc.

This is classic War Propaganda.

The first action of any consequence the UK took after the commencement of hostilities in August of 1914 was to cut the undersea telegraph cables that were stretched from Germany to points around the globe (the most important point, obviously, being the United States); by doing this, the UK ensured that it was their side of the story that the rest of the world would be hearing.

It would seem that the same effect could be attained 100+ years later, at a fraction of the effort.
