I guess you understand that there really are people in the conservative movement who support the Russians like this Sundance character. I for one grew up fearing Russia. I do not want to go back to a renegade Russian bully and thug. I thought we were done with it in the breakup of the Soviet Union. I guess we were wrong. I recently read an article by Richard Nixon where he warned after the breakup and when we thought we were clear of that chapter that we needed to fear a resurgence of Russian nationalism. He was right.
There are many FReepers who support the Soviets and Putin.
Putin uses the term “Nazis” to incite western revulsion toward Ukraine after watching for 4 years how the term crippled the US Government. Oddly enough, there are folks in here who are triggered by it as well.
Several long articles have been posted in here regarding the Azov Battalion and its Jewish members, as well as the history of the unit.
The Putin fans in here forget that the Soviets invaded Donetsk, Luhansk, and Crimea in 2014 during the Obama years and turned those areas into Russian Mafia controlled hell zones. Ukraine has been fighting them since to reclaim those parts of their nation.
Amazing how these same people scream about our southern border being overrun by invaders, but when it happens to another country with armed paramilitaries its ok.

I think you miss understand the Freepers who are taking the Russian side. Most of them don’t like or love Russia or Putin. They agree he is bad. But that does not mean we want to go to war over Ukraine. We also see the economic sanctions hitting Europe and the US almost as hard as hitting Russia.
What we have here is a war between the CIA and Putin. Many of us believe we don’t have a dog in this fight. We don’t think the CIA is worth supporting. Certainly not with our lives.
And all this talk about NAZIs is really a smoke screen. There are nationalist groups in every country that hate foreigners. NAZIism in Ukraine means anti-communists, anti-Russian government. The jew hating thing is not really a strong issue in Ukraine. Gypsies are more of a problem. And they are Semitic. Jews who are law abiding and live within the local society are not at issue here.
Our CIA is roaming the world causing trouble. The US provides resources and cover for the CIA. And most of the world hates them. Its like the MS-13 of America. They break all sorts of laws. They kill lots of people. The collateral damage and chaos they wreak is massive. So Americans are quite leery of following them into a conflict.
Ukraine is were the conflict is. But the conflict is between Putin and the CIA. The Ukrainians are on both sides and the middle. The Ukrainian government and armies are being paid and armed by NATO because of the CIA. We should not consider this our fight. But how this war turns out will affect many other countries and the world.
