President Vladimir Putin on Thursday signed a decree ordering 134,500 new conscripts into the army as part of Russia's annual spring draft, but the defence ministry said the call-up had nothing to do with the war in Ukraine.
The order came five weeks into Russia's invasion, which has run into fierce Ukrainian resistance. Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu said on Tuesday that none of those called up would be sent to any "hot spots".

That’s called “Spring Draft”. They call about as many every spring.

Oh, that makes sense. Their conscripts only serve for a year, unless they are getting picked off in a war zone.

who were sent on a 'training mission', which happened to be in Ukraine !
What happens is that many conscripts are bullied or coerced into signing a “contract” to become a professional soldier, and thus they are no longer conscripts.
This is one of the ways Putin is finding fresh meat to be sent into the grinder in Ukraine.
He may get as much as say, 20% conversion of these new conscripts into contract soldiers, which would still give him tens of thousands of bodies to throw into the cauldron of Ukraine.
With the strict censorship and the elimination of independent news sources in Russia, many conscripts who convert into contract soldiers will have no idea what they are getting into.
I should have put the “I am joking” tag on that.

The only good news for the conscripts is training will be very brief.
Do you have a source for Putin saying that Poland and Hungary have no right to exist? (Most of Poland was part of Tsarist Russia, but Hungary never was. The current Hungarian government is controversial because it’s staying completely neutral between Russia and Ukraine.)

Sounds like refreshing a “Iranian Horde” approach that was fairly effective in Iraq to overwhelm sunni’s in their internecine battles. Ammo runs out, will fails.
Big populations can provide such catastrophic attacks that lose half or more of boots. Wait till China tries that again with Taiwan. (Or Russian central asian republics)
