....”compromising the integrity of the Academy” is a laugher.
These low lifes today (Smith and Rock) insult the integrity of men like Jimmy Stewart who flew 26 odd bomber missions over Germany; or, men like Lee Marvin who fought with the Marines at Iwo Jima; or Charles Bronson who served and flew 25 missions as a tail gunner and received the purple heart; or, Henry Fonda who won the Bronze Star while serving in the Navy; or Clark Gable who participated in many combat missions during the war.
How far the Academy has sunk regarding integrity and morality is best illustrated by comparing todays Academy participants with participants in Clark Gable’s era.
A lot of us haven’t been to a movie in 20 years of more. Smith and Rock exemplify why.
Really just a sad microcosm of the general population, watered down further with each generation. Imagine the current crop being asked to storm Normandy.
I will credit Rock with imploring black men to adhere to cops and for more recently (along with Chappelle) calling out the black privilege in the justice system. I wonder if that may have precipitated the attack or at least some acceptance of it.
