The whole episode was idiotic, but I doubt it made people more likely to believe the stereotype that black people are more violent. These were celebrities, for gosh sakes. And it wasn’t especially violent.

It was more violent than the 10,000 other interactions - incl. below-the-belt jokes, etc. - that have taken place on that stage in the past 90 years.
