Problem is, no one likes Kamala. Never have, and likely never will. And she has done ZERO to build any popularity while she's been in office.
I think they fumbled the handoff. I think they told her to "lay low" and wait for her turn, and gave her various "safe" assignments to keep her looking busy in a way she could do no harm. But in the end, she ended up screwing that up.
