A Florida teacher told MSNBC he worries that he can’t discuss his love life with his kindergarten class after Governor DeSantis signed the parental rights education bill.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis on Monday signed into law HB 1557, a measure that forbids instruction on sexual orientation and gender identity to children in grades pre-K through grade 3.

The left is angry that DeSantis is protecting children from groomers.

There is no reason why any adult should be talking about gender identity or sexual orientation to 5 year olds.

One Florida teacher said he’s worried that he can’t talk about his partner and personal life to his kindergarten class.

It is not considered appropriate for ANY teacher-heterosexual. homosexual, asexual-whatever-to be discussing their personal life with a student-any student-AT ALL-doing that is grounds for dismissal at the schools here-they are teachers-not your kid’s close friends...

I still remember my kindergarten teachers from the 1960s. (Two women; one left in the middle of the year and was replaced.) I remember the blue walls, building blocks and trucks on one side of the room, dolls and storybooks on the other side. How we set our heads down on our tables (several chairs around each table) in the afternoon for "nap time."

But I don't recall either of my teachers ever discussing her love life.

This is the point we need to make. I don’t want ANY teacher, man or woman, heterosexual or homosexual, talking about their sexual adventures in the classroom. This “gay” teacher is held to the same standard as anyone, in that, NO TEACHERS should be telling their students about these subjects.

Yep. In the early 60s, when I was in kindergarten and early grades, there were still plenty of dads around who had been fighting WWII not that long before. As soon as word got out, a teacher like this would have received a brief but intense visit from a few of them.

There is no reason why any adult in a position of power, like a boss, a coach, assistant coach, position coach, teacher, administrator, nurse, doctor, professor or the homeless guy on the corner would talk to anyone else other than a friend or family about sex.

Talking about gender crap, or orientation BS, they don’t deserve a place in society. Let them live out life in a Gulag. Have we built those yet? We should start.

I'm pretty sure that the majority of liberals DO CARE what is taught in the classrooms, regardless of how they feel about other issues. Who would want their kids discussing sex in the homes after school, at 5 or 6 years old? That would feel so weird. And who knows if the teachers would want to teach them first-hand what sex is all about? So, parents do want to know, regardless of their politics.

This teacher is a pathetic human being. He should keep his personal life/style private, esp. around very young, curious and impressionable children.
