No. You confuse the Ukrainians with Russian Separatists.
Not your fault. Uniforms were actually confiscated from captured Russian troops.

“As for US reliability, I suspect it’s because we have no interests there.”
With that reasoning, the US has no interests anywhere, because we are seen as unreliable by pretty much everyone.

Ukraine violated the part of the Minsk agreement concerning the breakaway regions prior to them breaking away.

“With that reasoning, the US has no interests anywhere, because we are seen as unreliable by pretty much everyone.”
We are seen as unreliable due to all the blustering BS spewed by moralizing do-gooders about “red lines” and “sanctity of international borders” and “legitimate aspirations of the people” and the “sanctity of democratic process and norms”...when we have no intention of doing anything REAL about them.
We pump up countries and peoples all over the world, then deflate them. And more times than not, over some ephemeral moral issue that is none of our business. All while looking the other way when it happens somewhere else.
At best the US is feckless is this regard.
A national morality has caused us to over commit to a ludicrous degree without ever giving thought to the real repercussions...or what happens when the bet is called.

“Ukraine violated the part of the Minsk agreement concerning the breakaway regions prior to them breaking away.”
Neat trick. Considering:
Pro-Russian separatists declared the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) on April 7, 2014, and the Luhansk People’s Republic (LPR) a few weeks later, both as being independent from Ukraine. These were by “referendum.”
So, they “broke away” in April and May, 2014.
Minsk I was signed on September 5, 2014 (or about 4 months after the referendums; and Minsk II was signed on February 12, 2015, nine months after the referendums.

Barkashov Barkashov joined the far-right nationalist movement Pamyat in 1985 and rose quickly within its ranks. He was elected to the Central Council within a year, and by 1989 was second only to Dmitri Vasilyev. Conflict between Barkashov and Vasilyev resulted in Barkashov leading, in his words, "the most disciplined and active members, dissatisfied with empty talk and theatrical stunts, out of Pamyat". Barkashov and a few dozen followers gathered at his home on Moscow's Dubinin Street and founded "the National Unity for a Free Strong Just Russia" (shortened to "the Russian National Unity", and informally among the Barkashovtsy [Barkashovites]: "the Unity" [Yedinstvo]). Barkashov stated in a public interview that he is a Nazi. During the Russian constitutional crisis of 1993, Barkashov led RNU fighters in their defense of the Russian White House against Boris Yeltsin's forces. Escaping arrest by fleeing Moscow, Barkashov took refuge in a nearby dacha. Shot in the thigh during an evening stroll, Barkashov was brought to a hospital where a nurse recognized him. Barkashov was imprisoned on charges of organizing and inciting mass disorder and illegally bearing arms. In early 1994, the newly elected Duma granted amnesty to Barkashov.
Alexei Milchakov from a neo-Nazi St. Petersburg organization “Rusich" The terrorist group, in which he was fighting in Donbas used to have a Twitter account (not active at this moment) administered by Milchakov. On June 29, 2015, he posted pictures of Ukrainian prisoners of war with mutilated faces. Another picture, made near Luhansk in September 2014, shows an ear, which was cut off from a Ukrainian soldier.
RUSSIAN NAZI MILITARY: In 1999, RNU was estimated to have 100,000 active members all over Russia. Members wear black and camouflage uniforms; the group adopted a red and white modified swastika emblem, openly expressed admiration for German national socialism and publicly celebrated the rise of the Nazis. During the Russian constitutional crisis of 1993, Barkashov led RNU fighters in their defense of the Russian White House against Boris Yeltsin‘s forces. Barkashov was imprisoned on charges of organizing and inciting mass disorder and illegally bearing arms. In early 1994, the newly elected Duma granted amnesty to Barkashov. In 2014, when the war in Donbas started, many of RNU [RUSSIAN NAZI MEMBERS] joined PRO=RUSSIAN FORCES in Ukraine. The most famous Russian fighting in Donbas is Alexander Barkashov, the creator and leader of “All-Russian civic patriotic movement Russian National Unity” (RNU). The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense intercepted a telephone conversation of Barkashov and a local Donetsk activist Boitsov. Barkashov said to Boitsov that he could call off the referendum on independence of the territory. Barkashov said that "it is not necessary to perform referendum the legit way. That in the end no one would care about it. Barkashov said, "All that Boitsov has to do is to write whatever he finds."

Russia has shown that it will go to war to protect her sphere of influence, and has stated it will use nuclear weapons to do it.
Like or not, Russia is part of the deal.
The rest of Europe and the US had better start rearming fast, because after the Baltic states Poland and East Germany are next.

The first time I posed this, a little over a week ago, there was no sign of Ukraine agreeing to any of these terms.
Now, as the war grinds on, the Ukrainians are becoming more realistic, and Zelinskyy has acquiesced on a number of these terms, in public statements, or as reported from the negotiations.
We're getting close to a negotiated settlement.

#8 should be: Zelensky resigns and is banished to a deserted island where the nearest TV camera is ten thousand miles away, and there are no pianos.
