The Anonymous sources for this article are the Russian negotiators. That is important to know.

It’s also important to understand what the Russian sources are leaving out in their leaks to the FT.

Which is Ukraine would only be allowed to keep 24,000-48,000 troops in the Russian proposal which is unacceptable to the Ukrainian side of course.

That’s why the Russians are framing things this way with no denazification and no NATO. They don’t want to talk about their proposed Ukrainian troop levels.

Personally, I think there are facts on the ground remaining to be sorted out before negotiations become real. There is more fighting to be done, more land to be lost or gained or regained. We shall see.
