The pushback continues against Joe Biden’s Federal Energy Regulatory Commission’s (FERC) rules, put into place in February to consider greenhouse gas emissions and “vulnerable” communities when permitting natural gas pipelines, including criticism from Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV).

so counter all the climate change rules by making everything exempt?
Too bad this will do nothing. The Climate a-holes are running the show now and the suffering they are causing means nothing to them.
No Problem, Take your time Guys.
Personally, I hope they keep things shut down. We just promised a boatload (many boatloads, actually) of natural gas (LNG) to Europe and so there will be far less available here and therefore MUCH HIGHER PRICES.
Normally, I’d be upset by that, but at this point, it’s worth sucking up the high prices to drive Biden and his wrecking crew further underwater with voters. It’s a price we have to pay, to wake up the populace - who thought they could have EVERYTHING, and basically for free (with the soccer moms being the worst).
This.
They’ll never cave. The Biden administration WANTS the US damaged beyond recovery. Crippling rules are necessary to that end.
It’s not a bug; it’s a feature.
A better response is to do what the radicals do.
Ignore the restrictions.
They are NOT laws.
Climate Change Police ... they’re heeeeeere ... stand by for lock downs and carbon foot print limitations.
It will be at least a year, more likely two, before significant US gas can go to Europe. Facilities need to be built first.
So irrelevant for this election. There is also plenty of time to get production up as that can be increased faster. That is assuming that the regulators get out of the way.
“It will be at least a year, more likely two, before significant US gas can go to Europe. Facilities need to be built first.”
That was my understanding. And I recently read that Cutter isn’t interested in increasing production, so it’s only us that can make up their shortfall, and we’re talking HUGE quantities...and yes, ONLY if AOC permits it.
There is a bit of a misunderstanding here on this.
In 2021 the US was ALREADY the largest supplier of LNG to the EU and UK. Larger than either Qatar #2 or Russia #3. Of course Russia also supplies natural gas via pipeline.
Germany now plans to build two new LNG depots to receive cargoes, and that will take about a year (+).
There are currently 29 large-scale LNG import terminals in Europe - 21 are in EU countries, three are in the UK, four are in Turkey and one is in Russia.
Thanks for the link. And in the link they do say that European pipeline imports from Russia is more than the combined total of their LNG imports, meaning that Europe will have to more than double its LNG imports (or, more likely, find the equivalent energy via more LNG and other sources). It will be interesting to watch!
Also, can they really build new LNG terminals in a year?
