Though Black cadets made up about 6 percent of the student body, they represented about 43 percent of those expelled for honor code violations.

What a coincidence. Those numbers also represent the percentage of the population which is black, that commits about 40% of all crimes.

“My friend said that in the early 1950’s a cadet had to write “Certified” in the upper corner of anything turned in.

...certifying that it was his/her work and only his/her work.”

“September 22, 1996

A deeply divided Board of Visitors of Virginia Military Institute, forced to act by a U.S. Supreme Court ruling, voted today to end 157 years as an all-male academy and to admit women beginning with the 1997 school term. The vote was 9 to 8.”

“his/her”???

# Are they saying that Blacks have less honor than other races?

Prety much, yeah. That is exactly what they are saying.

At my college alma mater, we had to write out the entire honor pledge on every test, exam, lab report, and term paper turned in for a grade.

The destruction of the United States of America from within picks up speed. As planned.

They will. In the end. This is just the first step.

You know, Sky Dancer, that you are not supposed to say that. [Even though it may be true].

University of Virginia had a strict honor code back in the day...I wonder if they have softened it too.

His/her? I'm assuming there were no "her" cadets in the early 1950s.

After they removed Stonewall from the front of barracks, this was inevitable.

Besides being a good thing, the VMI honor code also had a practical function. Barracks life will be impossible when fellow cadets can and do steal from each other.

There will soon enough be drug overdoses and gunfights in the VMI barracks. When you need not be truthful when asked direct questions, anything is possible.

There is no reason to go to this VMI. Future enrollment numbers will tell the story.

It was an anachronism back in the day but it had a consistency in the honor code that was the glue that held it together in more modern times.

It’s over for VMI. “Never say die” was one motto often used, but VMI killed itself, and the institute will never be heard from again.

Did they break the HONOR CODE disproportionately more than others who were NOT Black?

Seems like a simple question, ya know like, What is a Woman?
