Top US admiral in Indo-Pacific says Russia's invasion of Ukraine is a warning to the world that a Chinese attack on Taiwan 'could really happen'

Russia's invasion of Ukraine should serve as a warning to the world that China could launch an assault on the autonomous island of Taiwan, according to the top U.S. military commander in the region.

Admiral John Aquilino, head of Indo-Pacific Command, said China had displayed a 'boldness' during the past year - from its increasingly assertive stance toward Taiwan to its hypersonic weapon test last July.

But it was Russia's invasion of Ukraine, he said, that should put the world on alert.

'I don't think anyone five months ago would have predicted an invasion of the Ukraine. So I think the number one lesson is: "Hey, this could really happen,"' he told the Financial Times during a visit to Australia.

'Number two, don't be complacent . . . We have to be prepared at all times.'

His warning comes after months of Chinese aggression directed at Taiwan, including nine Chinese aircraft entering its air defence zone on the day Russian troops invaded Ukraine.

Hopefully the Chinese Nationalists (Taiwan) can shoot the CCP boats out of the water before they can reach shore.

Right now I think China is more focused on a vulnerable Siberia than a thoroughly armed Taiwan.

If anything the Russian experience in Ukraine has given some pause to Comrade Xi. If Russia attacking over frozen ground with overwhelming manpower, armor, air assets and naval dominance has been unable to win and is taking horrendous causalities, then how might China’s army of “one child’ combat inexperienced soldiers and his locally produced ships and planes with equally untested operators do attacking across 90 miles of open ocean against an armed, determined opponent? If an invasion did not go well, Xi knows the consequences for himself , his family and his sycophants will not be pleasant. Thanks to the Russian debacle ,he is able to resist any pressure to invade from elements within the CCP.

Think what is going on in Ukraine is showing the Chinese that invading a much smaller but very determined population is much more difficult than mere numbers and even tech might suggest.

Its also a lot more difficult to invade with amphibious resources than overland.

Taiwan also has way more modern fighter aircraft and air defence systems.

And China is even more lacking in recent military experience than Russia is.

As things stand, I think any attempted Chinese invasion would get slaughtered on the beaches IF it even reached them in the first place.

Russia’s invasion of Ukraine is a warning to China of what might happen to them if they try to invade Taiwan.

The Communist Chinese owning Jao Bai-din is a warning to the world that China could attack Taiwan and the Democrats would support them. The Democrats are actively aiding and abetting illegal alien invaders of this country.

I imagine China is shelving the invasion plan, and extending the political efforts to undermine the Taiwanese political scene. If China does invade, it’s to distract domestically from some terrible risk of internal collapse or revolution.

The ChiComs are about 40 years behind the U.S. and we need to give thanks to the Clintoons about the Chicoms progress in armaments.

The Chicoms want everything free.

First it was Tibet and then Hong Kong and the Chicoms did not spend a dime on these two (2).

The Chicoms could see the beginning of their downfall if they try to invade Tiawan.

After our surrender in Afghanistan, everyone with half a brain knows Taiwan is the next target.

I am thinking the same. Also, the invasion will have put Japan, S. Korea and Vietnam on high alert. China will have to deal with them as well as Taiwan.

I have always thought that China would not invade Taiwan because I came up through the old School academic poly Sci view of the world.

Recently I have been red pilled about the real nature of who controls the world and how we have all been lied to and controlled for decades. It now appears that the NWO cabal is firmly entrenched in Taiwan and Israel as well as the US and the Ukraine. I’m hearing that Xi is going into Taiwan and we are going to discover bio weapons labs there and God knows what else. Many major events are going to unfold in coming weeks and months.
